Nature meets craftsmanship. 🌿

A bespoke live edge mirror, made to work with the natural character of the timber rather than hide it.

And what better backdrop than the Peak District itself? 👌🏻

Hit a screw with your chisel? 😬

Yep… it happens.

This one took a proper knock, so here’s how I brought the edge back from chipped and battered to sharp again, finishing on a 10,000 grit stone.

Would you have stopped at a lower grit, or taken it all the way to 10,000? 👀

Does a door REALLY need a leading edge? 🤔

I think they do… and there’s a good reason why.

A small detail, but one that can make a big difference to how a door operates and how it works when finished.

Here’s my take on leading edges, why I use them and what they actually do.

Changing the blades in our Wadkin UO thicknesser 🔧

A proper bit of old-school machinery that’s still earning its keep in the workshop.

Here’s the process of removing the old blades, cleaning everything up, fitting and setting the new ones ready for another day of work.

There’s something very satisfying about getting an old machine properly dialled in. 👌

Fed up with your planer thicknesser blocking up your extraction? 🌳💨

Here’s a look at the extraction box I made for mine, including how I designed it, the dimensions, the internal baffles and how it connects into the extraction system.

It’s made from simple plywood and, most importantly, it works! 👌🏻

If you’re thinking of making your own, hopefully this gives you a few ideas and a starting point for your design.

Would you do anything differently with yours? 👇🏻
