Hello Everyone!

So this week has been all hands on deck for 34007 from Chloe and myself, whilst Daniel has continued his training on the machines.

Chloe has cracked on with a few outside areas on Wadebridge, she has done a lot of work on the buffer beam, filling, priming & undercoating, I just hopped on them today to give a first gloss whilst I was already using the same paint.

Chloe has also done a section between the cylinders and slide bar bracket (which I forgot to get a snap of), since the original paint job we did on it, the engineering side had grinding off a large section to complete more work on it, but this section has now been refilled, primed and undercoated, this should be finished next week.

Meanwhile Ive been underneath the frames, there have been a few bits still in primer or bare metal which required some attention, I still have plenty to get through next week but its getting there.

I have also done some more work on the inside frames off Jinty 47445, which isnt too far from having the inside motion complete. There are a few parts that will require an extra coat of paint.

As for Daniel, he has near enough completed another machine, just some touch ups required now. He has even had a little try at picking out letters with a sign writing brush, just so he doesn't get too bored.

Finally, a little side project for the boss is one of his replica class 37 plates (the other one is already finished), just requiring a polish and a coat of gloss.

That will do us for this week. Next week will see more work on 34007, one of the jobs being to paint the boiler.

Evening everyone,

Bit of a short update this week. Chloe and Daniel have been in the works carrying on with some machines.

Chloe has now finished her rolling machine as shown in the photos. As for Daniel, he's currently in the middle of priming one of his 8 machine projects, he should have that one complete next week.

Chloe has also done a little bit of work for the ponytruck covers off 34007. They've needed some new sliding doors fitted for oiling purposes, and this week they've seen some patching in work done to them.

Meanwhile I've been in Fort William repainting the interior of our support coaches, I forgot to get photos from inside the mk1, but I've provided the before & after photos from the Mk2.

I think that about wraps up this week. Sorry there isn't much more, hopefully I can show more projects next week.

Evening folks!

So this week see's multiple jobs being worked on by Daniel and myself.

Ive been focusing on 34007, 8572 & 47445. The B12's cabside has had some filler applied and smoothed out ready for a coat of primer in the coming weeks.

Wadebridge has a few fiddly jobs that needed doing, the axle boxes on the ponytruck have seen some attention before being fitted to the engine frames. I've also begun to gloss some of the outside fittings ready for the boiler to go back into the frames, but there's still plenty to do on it.

As for the Jinty, some new spring hangers have been fitted inside the frames, so they've needed priming, undercoating and glossing, which is now complete. There are a couple other fittings that have been worked on for the frames but these still require more work.

As for Daniel, he has done some work on the pipes and fittings from 2857, getting them all cleaned up ready painting in the future. He'll be working on a couple more pieces next week.

He has also been cracking on with his machines, and has now ticked another off the list for painting, so he'll begin to clean off another next week. He has also had a little go at picking out a logo with red paint on one of the previous machines he completed.

That's all from us this week, next week Ill be up in Scotland for most of next week painting the interiors of our support coaches, Daniel will be holding down the fort in Bury. Hopefully he'll be able to provide some photos for the next update!

Afternoon everyone,

Back with an update after coming back from a holiday in the Highlands.

So this week sees a couple new jobs started. This morning I started sanding back the cab off B12, 8572. We'll basically just be sanding it back and giving it a coat of primer for the moment, hopefully have the finished by the end of next week.

The other new job is 2800 class, 2857, we've been handed a fair few copper pipes, steam pipes and brackets from the engine frames that need a lot of cleaning up. So Chloe made a start on them when I was away and whilst I've been suffering with a rough cold this week, I did a little bit on them. Daniel is going to take over next week for a few days to finish them off.

Also inside the paint has been a roller machine which required a repaint, Chloe has jumped on the project and been sprucing it up.

Daniel has also been cracking on with machines, hes nearly ticked another one off, the handles require another coat of red and some touch ups needed.

I also did a little work on 34007, more touching up on the new nuts and bolts on the inside the front section of the frames.

I think that about wraps up this week, more progress on 34007, 47445, 8572 and 2857 coming next week.

Evening everyone!

Im on time for a change, what a shock!

So a bit like last week, not too much exciting things to show you, but things have been progressing.

This week sees Chloe doing more progress on 45163 and she has been able to get some undercoat on the engine frames. I think this may be as far as we can take them at the moment. She has also been doing some work on the steps and motion brackets. Another project she has been doing with myself is the 45690 board and a couple of storage boxes for the paint shop.

Ive been bouncing about between 34007 & 47445 this week. 34007 has mostly been touch ups to the engine frames but also the last couple of things to the cab. As for 47445, I've been inside the frames repainting the inside motion rods that were in the paint shop a couple weeks back. They had been a little beaten up whilst being refitted and they were also in the wrong colour, so I went inside to rectify them.

And Daniel of course has been cracking on with his machines again, and that is another on his list ticked off, he'll be onto a new one next week.

That'll be all from this week, there won't be an update next week whilst im away on holiday, unless Chloe can provide me with some updates.

Morning Everyone,

Sorry for the delay to last week's update. Its been a little quiet in terms of jobs in the works, a lot of touching ups.

Chloe has been doing some work on Black 5, 45163, the frames are getting some coats of black undercoat around the frames and running boards. There isn't too much that can be done to the frames themselves as they still require some work to be done on the engineering side.

Ive been focusing on 34007's cab, making sure its ready for being refitted, plenty of new bolts and nuts have been fitted, so they've needed a lot of touching in. Also the black strip at the bottom of the cab now goes round to the back section.

Daniel has been cracking on with his machines, another is nearly complete, just requires some touching up, as for the next one, it is now in undercoat and ready for its first gloss.

Lastly, just some side projects we've been getting through, a sign writing board for a friend of Riley & Son and a couple storage boxes being spruced up.

Hopefully we'll have some more exciting things to show off in the coming weeks, but that'll be it for this week!

Afternoon everyone,

So this week saw Heritage Paintings last involvements with Black 5, 45212 under Rileys before it goes back home to the KWVR.

We've spent a few days tarting the engine up ready for its big move, there have been a few things in the cab that have had work done, like the firebox doors, patching in some areas on the roof, the injector trimmers and tender cupboards. Ive been on the inside of the frames patching sections in where fittings had been cut off. As for the outside, there were some areas that had rusted or new pieces been welded on by the engineering side which needed patching in with black paint. Then finally, rubbing on an oil mixture to the tender, cab, boiler and smokebox, just to bring some life back into the paint work.

Not too much has happened in the grand scheme of things at the works whilst we've been at the ELR, Daniel has been cracking on with machines, his next one is currently in undercoat and awaiting a first coat of gloss.

Chloe and myself have done some more work on 34007, the back end of the frames are once again glossed thanks to Chloe after some work had been done to them in the previous months. I've been working more on the cab windows, the sliding windows arent very far from completion now.

Jinty 47445 has also had some work done, the motion rods are up into undercoat and will recieve a couple coats of gloss next week, and the odd couple of pieces from inside the frames have been brought up into black gloss (no pictures I'm afraid)

That'll be all for this week. I'll be in Scotland next week, so unless Chloe is able to grab us some pictures, the next update will be in a couple weeks

Morning Everyone!

We have been a little busy this week jumping from multiple engines.

Chloe and myself have mostly focused on Bulleid pacific 'Wadebridge', Chloe has been overseeing work on the back end of the engine frames which required a bit of attention after work had been done to them, just a case of filling, patch priming and appling a coat of undercoat. She has also been giving the ponytruck off 34007 the same treatment.

Ive been in the paint shop most of the week sorting out 34007's cab again, focusing mostly on the window frames, all panels have been woodstained and most sections have already had a first coat of varnish.

Other work we've had in the paint shop are off Jinty 47445, a few pieces of inside motion are being worked on and is nearly primed. A couple other pieces from inside the frames have also been given attention.

The final engine we've been working on is KWVR's 45212, we'll be handing back the engine to the Worth Valley soon, so we're just sprucing it up some areas before it heads back.

Daniel has been cracking on with his machines, another one is done and dusted as shown, he is now onto the next one and started sanding it back. And that is all for this week!

Afternoon folks,

We're back after a week away, and there's not much too interesting to show off this week...

So Chloe has been bringing up 45163's frames into an undercoat, we won't be taking it any further than that whilst there's still work needed on them. She has also brought up some of the sand pipe covers for the Five.

Meanwhile Ive been working on 34007's cab more. Mostly touching up bits, there have been plenty of new bolts and nuts that have been fitted so they will all require priming and most likely just a gloss next week (shall see how well it covers, otherwise they'll need undercoat) Another thing Ive been doing on Wadebridge are the wooden window frames, sanding them all back ready for staining.

Daniel has been working on more machines, one is fully cleaned down (the blue one) and another is ready for a coat of gloss to be applied. Still plenty for him to practice on.

Other than those main jobs, we've been practicing our signwriting and working on a couple of side projects. Hopefully start on some more jobs in the coming weeks.
