- Ask if you can visit a finished job or speak to a past customer
- Check Google reviews — look for details & consistency, not just 5 stars
Anyone can post a pretty picture. Can they show you the driveway down the road they did last month?

Your quote MUST show:
- ✅ Clear breakdown: materials, labour, drainage, edging
- ✅ Exact start & finish dates

- ✅ VAT status — is it included or extra?
- ✅ Payment schedule — never pay 100% upfront!
If they won’t put it in writing → walk away.
✅ 4. PRICE = INVESTMENT, NOT COST
If one quote is half the others — ask yourself why:
- Cheaper resin? Probably mixed too thin → holes in 18 months
- Thinner tarmac? Cracks as soon as it freezes
- No proper base? Sinks next winter
You get what you pay for. A job done right now saves you paying twice later.

- Do they answer your calls promptly?
- Turn up on time for the quote?
- Explain things simply — no jargon?
