Here is a funny one.
The only double sided fire I have seen (although double sided stoves are quite common).
This one is on a rail so you can move it backwards and forwards, if this was in my house, I would be pulling it towards me, and my wife would be the other side pulling it towards her, neither of us would end up getting warm.
Although it has been a long time since this has been used, the current owner has never used it, but because it is in a thatched property and because the insurance company insists, it has to be swept once a year regardless of usage.
On the plus side, the chimney is ever so clean though, also, note the interesting ash pan.
Just a heads up that only a couple of sweeping spaces remain prior to Christmas.

A bit of glass cleaning, it doesn't take long and makes the stove look a lot better.
The way I look at it is, if he makes the glass as clean as that, the chimney must be clean as well.
It is, as well as the inside, above and behind the bricks.

Good morning everyone.
Just a heads up really, I am booking in sweeps galore this week, and just looking in the diary, November is pretty much full, a couple of spaces here and there, and December is filling up fast.
When I get home, I am having a quiet rest of the weekend, so I will get any messages tomorrow or Monday
Thanks very much.
Steve

This house had been not lived in for about 10 years.
A visit in May discovered a chimney with a large nest, probably ammased over many years, but there was still Jackdaws nesting.
So, we went back this week, now the young had fledged and swept it.
6 bags full, and a working chimney.

Just brushing out the cobwebs.

A few recent sweeps, and a couple of old ones. You can tell the older ones because there are clouds in the sky.
