It was a big challenge to renovate the small bathroom into a modern, monochromatic and elegant one. From wall and ceiling leveling to new electric installation for lights and ventilation, and from thermostatic shower mixer adjusted according to the wall thickness to floor isolation for underfloor heating, each effort taken was worth it as the end result was breathtakingly beautiful. Here, at Plumb Innovation Art we strictly line-up to the latest British Standards to make sure all our customers will enjoy not only perfectly looking and very functional bathrooms but they are also safe and secured against any errors that may appear when these standards are not followed.
One of these standards is bathroom waterproofing included in the British Standards Institute (BSI) released updates to regulations for tiling in wet areas. This included a recommendation for domestic locations to waterproof their wetrooms, showers, steam rooms and any other water-prone spots with a tanking membrane. Tiles alone are not enough to protect substrates from water absorption, and therefore should be supported by the membrane in order to prevent mould damage or de-bonding of the tiles.
