Teasels Landscapes A garden design and build company focussing on ecological and sustainable gardens

Teasels Landscapes are a Suffolk based garden design, landscaping and grounds maintenance company, based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. We specialise in transforming outdoor spaces for both private and commercial clients, tailoring our services to their individual needs. Over the past few years we have designed and landscaped many private gardens from courtyards to rural properties with many acres

of garden. We have also worked on a number of commercial landscaping projects including playgrounds, cafe & pub gardens and retail sites. We hold a number of commercial contracts for maintenance of outdoor public spaces offering a full range of services from lawn and hedge cutting to maintenance of hard standing and car parks.

Gardens as habitat, how have we done?? Gardens are a key resource for biodiversity and adding certain elements supercharges their impact! As a measure of our progress we have compiled a list of habitat we have created within the gardens we have built in 2025. Read the full list in our blog (link in bio). With thanks to the clients and garden designers who have helped make this happen

We are calling these habitat heaps, inspired by a visit to garden (3rd picture) we are keeping the garden waste onsite of one of our regular maintenance gardens and increasing habitat diversity through the creation of a series of compost heaps where plant waste is allowed to decompose creating habitat for insects, amphibians, reptiles and small mammals. The outer layer is being arranged to make it more aesthetic for us humans!!

We have been experimenting at home with dead hedges as a way to manage woody waste in the garden. Less road miles than using a green waste bin, less carbon released than burning and it creates another habitat within the garden. It looks really cool too. It follows the construction of our log wall which has flourishing fungal life already!!

Great pictures taken by our client of a garden we built this spring. We designed and built this garden with the environment in mind
* cement free slabs and bedding mortar with a 60% reduction in carbon
* hard landscaping where the environmental costs were off set
* Trees which are beneficial to wildlife
* Planting which is pollinator friendly and includes native plants
* a compost heap system allowing the garden to become regenerative
