🎬 It’s time for a “Hey Alex” tip!

This time, Alex is talking about one of the most important crimping basics: the correct crimping direction. ⚡
✅ Always crimp from the cable lug toward the cable, never the other way around. Following the correct crimping direction helps ensure a secure, reliable connection and prevents issues that can compromise the quality of the installation.

For this demonstration, Alex uses the Klauke EK120/42, a battery-powered hydraulic crimping tool designed for conductors from 16 to 400 mm², making it the perfect solution for demanding electrical applications. 💪

⚠️ The direction of crimping is crucial for a secure connection.
 
If you crimp in the wrong direction, the conductor inside the cable lug may be displaced. The result: The cable lug is no longer completely filled, and the connection does not meet the requirements for a secure crimp.
 
✅ Therefore, always crimp from the cable lug toward the cable.
 
A small step with a big impact.

⚠️ 240 mm² is not always the same as 240 mm²!
Just because you’re using a 240 mm² cable lug doesn’t automatically mean that every 240 mm² crimping die is suitable.
✅ D22240 for DIN cable lugs
✅ R22240 for tubular cable lugs
Using the wrong die can result in over-crimping or under-crimping. This can compromise the quality of the connection and may even affect the safety of the installation.
💡 Remember: It’s not only the conductor cross-section that matters, but also the type of cable lug. The correct combination of cable lug and crimping die ensures a safe, reliable, and standards-compliant crimp connection. 🔧⚡️
