We are very proud and pleased to announce, that as of the 1st of March we are now the approved local authority sub contractor for Aragon Housing association and central Bedfordshire council working on behalf of Jeakins weir...

AB Roofing formed a partnership with South Bedfordshire Council during the 90's as their main roofing subcontractor, and It can defiantly be said that we are now following in our fathers footsteps in evolving much the same way.

We are looking forward very much to getting started and working as a independent contractor with these clients, and hopefully for many years to come, offering the honest and traditional roofing services that AB Roofing and Son est1987 has now become so well known for with our quality of works and conduct in the individual honest services that we offer.

Alot of time and effort and many previous years of employment, has now concluded in the creation of a partnership and a independent platform to work together from for the company to now expand in. To all involved and that includes our beautiful followers, thank you.

None of what has been achieved in our first year of trading would not have been possible with out ur valuable support and efforts in spreading the word like you have about us and the custom we have received.

Carbon Fibre Roofing systems...

In an ever evolving industry polycarbonate Roofing is fast becoming a trend setter. Boasting the same manufacturers garuntee as the more frequently used and time tested felted Roofing systems of work we thought we would learn a little more ourselves, make our own minds up and kept in with the times.

Polycarbonate or Carbon fibre roofing systems of work are a strong thermoplastic material that is lightweight and can withstand extreamly low and high temperatures. This is a durable and pratical roofing material, and is perfect for single ply decking systems used on most common flat roof areas of work.

Passionate about what we do, and keeping within good practise of modernisation within an ever evolving industry we decided to take a serious approach with our spot of training as seen in the pictures below, including also proving that even an old dog is willing to learn new tricks with the Welsh wizard himself attending alongside myself, and a select few, with a bit of time at roofing school. even if it did include being reprimanded due to someone's behaviour, not mentioning no names, and being made to spend some time in detention clearing up as a result!!!!...

For your info You,ll be pleased to know that we have passed the course with flying colours and are now accredited installers offering manufacturers standards.

Our own conclusions are even though this is a relatively new system of works, it is probably the most visually impactive with the finishe product, and actually is a good composite as compared to other flat roof systems of works. The only draw back we can see is you pay a high price due to the non corrosive nature of the finished product and application is for certain roofs only to meet the manufacturers garuntee. To us polycarbonate systems are a primary substitute compared to other traditional felted systems of work.....

Felted roof systems...

A felted roofing system if applied correctly to manufacturers standard can not only look appealing, but will, with now a variety of colours available, compliment your buildings current aesthetics, and last a lifetime.

Historically felted systems of work picked up a bit of a bad name but these days, Not only versatile to use through modernisation of the industry, but the level of detail on the existing roof structure that felt can be applied is subjective to the skill of the trade application and the decking structure it is serving it's purpose for.

Economically it probably is the most variable and is now the cheaper alternative to other flat roof systems of work, which if applied to manufacturers spec is also the most reliable and honours the manufacturers garuntee of 15 years plus very well, opposed to other flat roofing systems that have not actually been around long enough to meet the garuntee that they come with.

Fresh back from some recent training, we thought it would be a great time to have a catch up and show case some of the work we have been covering over the past couple of weeks.

Repairs large and small works:

This time of year has always been prolific with the weather becoming increasingly worse. From snow to heavy rain and high winds extreme at times it all starts to take an effect.

Unfortunately as much as modernisation of materials can combat certain problems associated with the weather, water will always find a route and there is also the age old problem of maintaining the existing when stuff starts to go wrong.

Through age materials used simpley brake down in layman terms, and the type of repair required can result in being costly due to knock on effect of the damage sustained as a result of a leak occurring and being neglected until noticed.

At AB roofing and Son est 1987 we understand how sometimes these problems can be quite worrying, but as with anything there are options and everything can be fixed and maintained for time to come leaving you hassle and worry free.

What a difference a year makes!!!

On behalf of everyone at AB Roofing and Son est1987, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for the help, support and custom in making last year as successful as it was for us.

We are extremely grateful and are so touched by what you beautiful lot have done in helping not only to spread the word, and not only giving us the opportunity to expand but also helping us obtain and maintain what is now becoming a very highly thought of company as the feed back obtained is suggesting.

Recently we have gone quiet with our updates and keeping u lot in the loop, this is just simply down to busy times and expansion, hard at times changes have occurred for everyone but we hope this year with ur help and continued support we will be as successful as the last in progression and in maintaining the old fashioned honest traditional name this company has become so well known for started by my father all them years ago.

A little snap shot of what we have been up to recently and a very warm welcome back to master craftsman Carl Bywaters.

It really has been awesome working alongside you and certainly has rekindled those memories of labouring for you and dad in the good old days when I was but a pup. certainly still a force to be recon,d with!!!! and complete love and respect for ur legendary skill status my friend.....

To the people who don't know, Carl alongside my father during the days of the original AB Roofing tought me how to roof and has a steep history going back to the original legend of old man jack Sinclair for those in the know of local building knowledge......

With over 30 years roofing and building experience. We are completely passionate about what we do and we love what we do.
