Another successful round of nightshifts completed by the KSUK team for our client QTS. 👷‍♂️

Our nightshift watch and brief’s involved carrying out regular site inspections, monitoring ongoing invasive species works, checking work areas for safety and housekeeping, and ensuring all activities were progressing in line with the programme.

Key activities included:

🔎 Regular site watches and inspections
🦺 Monitoring health & safety compliance and Biosecurity measures
🚧 Checking work areas, access routes and housekeeping
📋 Briefing the team on ongoing and planned works
🤝 Coordinating with site personnel and other trades
✅ Identifying and addressing any issues throughout the shift

🌱 Japanese knotweed Stockpiling and Treatment 🌱

Our team has successfully completed a stockpiling and treatment of Japanese knotweed at a site in the Midlands area, following best practice and environmental guidelines.

Rather than transporting contaminated material off-site, the knotweed was excavated and stockpiled in a designated, controlled area. This method allows the material to be treated effectively with a targeted herbicide programme over time, reducing the risk of spreading this highly invasive plant while helping to minimise disposal costs and vehicle movements.

Managing invasive species like Japanese knotweed is essential to prevent further spread and protect surrounding land. By carefully stockpiling and treating the material, we help ensure effective long-term control while minimising environmental impact.
