🚨 DON’T IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS ON YOUR DOOR LOCK! 🚨

Today I’ve been out carrying out lock changes, door realignments and gaining entry to a faulty lock — and it’s reminded me how often a small problem can turn into an expensive one if it’s left too long.

🔑 Is your door getting harder to lock?
🔑 Do you have to lift the handle to get the key to work?
🔑 Can you hear a grinding, clicking or unusual noise when lifting the handle?

These can all be signs that your door needs realigning.

⚠️ Don’t force the handle or keep using it until the mechanism eventually fails. A simple realignment could prevent damage to the locking mechanism and save you the cost and hassle of a much bigger repair.

🚗 And with more vehicles being targeted by burglars, home security is more important than ever.

🚨 DON’T WAIT UNTIL YOUR LOCK FAILS! 🚨

A customer called me today because his front door lock had gone into lockdown mode.

He had an Ultion 3-star lock, one of the top-rated locks you can have. Unfortunately, even the best lock won’t save you if the mechanism underneath is struggling.

He kindly offered me a cup of tea while I got to work ☕️.

By the time the tea was made, I’d already bypassed the lock and fitted a brand-new one! 😂

He couldn’t believe how quickly it was sorted.

But here’s the important bit…

After working on a couple of other door mechanisms today, I asked my customers the same question:

“Was your door getting harder to lock before the mechanism broke?”

And guess what?

YES! Every time.

That’s the warning sign people often ignore.

Had a great week at work, and I was sitting at home relaxing with the kids on a Sunday when the emergency call came in…

“I’ve got an Ultion 3 Star and I’m locked out!” 🔐

Now, an Ultion is one of the best locks you can get — but for a locksmith who knows what he’s doing, it’s not a problem. 😉

Got them sorted, got the door open, and now they’re all safely back inside the house enjoying their Sunday…

Which means I can get back to enjoying mine! 😎

🔐 Another busy and productive day on the tools!

Started the day at a property where I changed seven locks and carried out a door realignment, getting everything working smoothly and securely.

The next job was a front door realignment and front lock replacement. While there, I asked the customer if they would like me to check the other locks to make sure they had anti-snap protection. After checking the back door, I found the existing lock didn’t have anti-snap protection, so I upgraded it to an anti-snap lock, giving the customer improved security and peace of mind.

Then it was straight onto the next job, where the front door was very difficult to close and wasn’t operating as it should. After carrying out the necessary adjustments and realignment, the door was closing and operating like brand new! 🚪👌

Another job completed, another happy customer, and another day of keeping homes safe, secure and working properly.

🔐 Another job, another happy customer! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This couple had been locked in since the weekend and couldn’t get hold of the estate agents because they were closed for the bank holiday.

A friend of mine who works in maintenance got in touch and asked if I could take on the job in Leamington the next day. Normally, I stick to the surrounding areas, but knowing they were stuck inside, I thought, “Right, I’d better get over there and help them out!”

I arrived, and within literally three minutes, the door was open! 🔑🙌

I changed the centre case mechanism and fitted new handles, upgrading them to a newer version of what they already had.

They were really happy to finally be able to get out and have the problem sorted.

And to top it off, they kindly left me another 5-star Google review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🚪 IS YOUR DOOR GETTING HARDER TO LOCK? DON’T IGNORE IT! 🔑

Very busy day today with a few lock changes, mechanism replacements and realignments — as always!

Here’s a tip I always give my customers 👇

If you’re finding it hard to close your door and you have to pull the handle up really hard to get it locked, your door may need realigning.

❌ Don’t keep forcing the handle.
❌ Don’t wait until the mechanism completely breaks.
✅ Get it checked and realigned before a small issue turns into an expensive repair!

💡 Want to help your mechanisms last longer?

I recommend 3-IN-ONE White Lithium Grease. It’s around £8 and is great for keeping the moving parts lubricated.

Give it a spray a couple of times a year — ideally before winter and summer.

👉 Spray inside the door where the hooks come out, and around the latch and bolt.

⚠️ DO NOT spray it into your locks or directly onto the locking mechanism.

A little bit of maintenance can make a big difference and help prevent mechanisms from wearing out prematurely.

If your door is becoming harder to lock, don’t wait for it to fail completely! Get it sorted before you’re left with a bigger problem. 🔧

🔐 LOCKED OUT? DON’T PAY OVER THE ODDS! 🔐

I got a call last night from a customer who needed help getting a gate open.

He’d already had a few locksmiths attend, but they were asking for around £750 to do the job 😳 — so he quite rightly turned them down and carried on looking.

He then got in touch with me. I came out, had a look at the lock, and within literally 10 minutes, I had the gate open! 🔓

As you can see from the photo, he was absolutely delighted with the result! 👍😁

Today I’ve been out carrying out several door realignment jobs, and I’ve already got plenty more booked in for the rest of the week.
