Thanks for all the messages I have still got a fair way to go and there is plenty of uncertainty but the trend seems to be going the right way.

I’m planning to do a few light jobs in the run up to Christmas alongside physio and then if that goes ok go back a bit more in January and build up from there.

I can drive locally now so have started seeing people again.

It’s become apparent however that I definitely won’t be doing any heavy doors though for the foreseeable future maybe even past Easter but other than that I’d like to hope by the new year and definitely the end of January I’ll be working back into a three day week and into the delayed work and 75% back to normal.

So we’ll see how it goes.

Thanks again for all the support on here and from the texts and calls I have had and from the people who have had everything delayed who have been so supportive.

Oh and I’ll put some photos of some works of the last few years on here this week I know I have got a bit slack on that over the last few years so I’ll pull my finger out and sort that.

Thank you to everyone who sent me well wishes it’s really helped.

I’m off my heavy painkillers and can sleep at night again normally without the horrible pains that would never go away.

I can pretty much move about the house without my crutches and I can walk half a mile on my crutches outside including today🌧️.

I have done this three days in a row now.

I’ll know more after the 19th Nov but again thank you to everyone who has sent me supportive messages on here and on my phone I have particularly found this week difficult but feel more positive today and these messages a have helped.

And I’m sure everyone who had works postponed or visits knows now but if for any reason you don’t just text me an we’ll go from there.

I’m more with it now so got phone with me as normal.

Have a nice weekend.

Unfortunately I suffered a spinal injury that also has caused some nerve damage in my leg.

A cause maybe of my job and getting slightly older which has put me in hospital.

Luckily it has turned out it could be worse and with much care a natural recovery should be possible. If it had developed further it would have been serious and required an operation.

That said with the required process and using crutches for an unknown time I’m now not able to work or drive for at least six weeks and this could extend further.

My wife will put on here in a month the progress and I think everyone in my list until next January should know.

Thanks for you support.

It’s all been business as usual at Friendly Carpentry and i hope it has been for you too.
I will put some photos on of some things I have been doing over the last year or so soon.

Mainly since 2023 it has been fitted Cupboards, general Carpentry, one or two small Kitchen related projects / Utility Rooms and one Craft Room using Kitchen Units and pre finished products.

There has also been some outdoor works and some repair works on listed properties.

Every year there is one property where your at the most and in 2024, alongside lots of other customers work I spent close to 14 or 15 weeks on and off in one house in Bedford for a couple I have worked for many times.

I made and fitted lots of Cupboards, a Tv unit and lots of general Carpentry. I was also involved in the Carpentry and Tiling of a large En Suite, one Bathroom and the Tiling only of a third top Bathroom.

Best regards to all the people I have worked for.

In July I removed the brick Parapet from above some old garage doors then I made made a new frame and cladded it in plastic Fascia on the front and back.
I also supplied and fitted some specially made Oak doors with new hardware and glazing.
Then stained the doors and painted the frame up to white gloss.
I rarely supply specially made joinery or decorate but this was a elderly couple who wanted me to do everything so nobody else was involved.

It worked out well

A regular customer finally convinced me (after nine months) to clad her old stairs in American white Oak.
It was a difficult job, carried out on and off for five days over two months.
The time gaps were left for the Oak to settle after various stages which I thought was a good idea.
Sourcing the Oak wasn’t easy but the finished result was good and a good supplier of Oak and doors was found.
