A sea of bespoke terrazzo panels set with Venetian glass rondels that we have been working on for the last while. This is a collaborative project with F R A N C E S P R I E S T and Helen Lucas Architects.
The process in producing these is incredibly challenging. But we are extremely excited by the way they look.

Looking through some photos of work from before we started the studio I came across these quirky stone vanity units. Commissioned 15 years ago for a singularly quirky holiday retreat on the Isle of Harris they are constructed from Lewisian Gneiss and raw Caithness sandstone slab using timber joinery techniques.

Oyster shell composition. Proof of concept sample for a larger commission.
The different heights of the cut shells really helps to create movement I think.

As we are getting near to the end of the oyster shell tile project, I have been thinking how to record the beauty of the shells.
These macro shots of small parts of the tiles is a good start I think. The organic nature of the colours and shapes is mind bending.

We’ve been off IG a while as we have fully immersed ourselves in the current project.
We developed this tile on a small scale and have learned a great deal in the scaling up of it.
Turns out there are roughly 2680 half shells in each of the large moulds and there are 60 of them! Which equates to 160800 individually placed shells!!!
Lots of 7 day weeks recently😬
