Looking through some photos of work from before we started the studio I came across these quirky stone vanity units. Commissioned 15 years ago for a singularly quirky holiday retreat on the Isle of Harris they are constructed from Lewisian Gneiss and raw Caithness sandstone slab using timber joinery techniques.

We’ve been off IG a while as we have fully immersed ourselves in the current project.
We developed this tile on a small scale and have learned a great deal in the scaling up of it.
Turns out there are roughly 2680 half shells in each of the large moulds and there are 60 of them! Which equates to 160800 individually placed shells!!!
Lots of 7 day weeks recently😬
