A new project begins in Churston. 🏡

We’re pleased to have started work on this exciting renovation of a 1960s bungalow in the small hamlet of Churston, Devon.

With plenty of space and a completely blank canvas, this property has huge potential — and we’re looking forward to bringing it into the 21st century while retaining the character of the original home.

Working alongside Geoff Sellick, the project will see a comprehensive transformation, including:

▪️ New windows and doors
▪️ Rewiring and new plumbing
▪️ Installation of an air source heat pump
▪️ Internal remodelling and refurbishment
▪️ A complete transformation of the existing spaces

This is one we’ve been looking forward to for some time, and it’s a great opportunity for our team to showcase what we can do.

Follow the journey as this 1960s bungalow is transformed into a modern, energy-efficient home.

🧱 New apprentices, new kit! 🔨

A big day for Ethan & Jamie who have both received their own specialist tool kits, kindly provided by & . 👏🏼

Ethan is building his future as our Carpentry Apprentice whilst Jamie is developing his skills as our Bricklaying Apprentice, and we’re really pleased to be supporting them both as they learn their trades and gain valuable experience on site.

Having the right tools makes such a difference when you’re starting out, so a massive thank you to Brixham for supporting our apprentices and helping us invest in the next generation of skilled tradespeople. 🧱🔨

We’re looking forward to seeing these two continue to learn, develop and build their careers with us.

Delivered as part of the wider redevelopment programme at Paignton Zoo this project incorporated groundworks, retaining walls, boulders, bespoke fencing, specialist steelwork and plenty of problem solving along the way.

Working within a live zoo environment meant careful planning, close coordination and an adaptable approach from start to finish, through changing seasons and alongside the day-to-day running of a working zoo, all while working to an exceptionally tight programme ahead of the arrival of Khulu and Benja 🦏🦏

A race against the tides. A commitment to the community.

Dyson Construction are proud to have played the key role in the restoration and preservation of this iconic outdoor sea pool, helping safeguard it for future generations to enjoy.

Working in the marine environment brought a unique set of challenges. Every stage of the project had to be carefully planned around changing tides, unpredictable weather and narrow working windows. It was a true race against time to complete the restoration and reopen the pool in time for the summer season.

From structural repairs to preserving the pool’s historic character, every detail mattered.

Projects like this are about more than construction, they’re about protecting the places that bring communities together.

Groundworks are progressing well on this stunning new build in East Allington, where Dyson Construction is proud to be delivering the groundworks package.

From foundations and drainage to preparing the site for the next phase, every stage has been carried out with precision by our experienced team.

Great to see this project taking shape in such a beautiful Devon setting.

Now it’s time to move on to the masonry and bricklaying package — something Dyson Construction does best. We’re looking forward to seeing the building really start to take shape as the next phase gets underway.

🦏 Behind the Build

We’re proud to be the Principal Contractor for the exciting new Rhino Habitat at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park.

Delivering a specialist construction project within a live zoo environment has required careful planning, close collaboration and attention to detail throughout every stage of the build.

As the project enters its final stages, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the vision becoming a reality. From the installation of natural stone features and bespoke timber fencing to carefully shaped landscapes, every element has been designed with both animal welfare and the visitor experience in mind.

We’re excited to announce the start of construction works with Libéma at Paignton Zoo, where Dyson Construction has been appointed as Principal Contractor.

This project is a perfect fit for our team. We specialise in complex, live environments, and this site brings unique challenges - from working safely around the public in a fully operational zoo to coordinating construction alongside live animals, all while maintaining the highest safety standards.

It’s a privilege to play a role in bringing new life back to such an iconic and much-loved zoo. This project will help prepare the site for new and exciting animals, while also enhancing habitats and experiences for the animals already calling Paignton Zoo home.

Another incredible project right on our doorstep, and one we’re genuinely proud to be part of. We’re looking forward to seeing what this partnership brings in the future - rebuilding, restoring, and revitalising one brick at a time.

This cold weather has us dreaming of sunny summer days ☀️❄️ But it’s great to be back to work, kicking off 2026 with some exciting new projects and finishing up a few familiar ones. There’s so much to look forward to this year at Dyson Construction — big things are on the way. 🏗️

As we wrap up another big year at Dyson Construction, we want to take a moment to say thank you to our incredible team, clients, and partners. This year has been filled with hard work, growth, and some truly amazing projects, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together.

With such a huge year behind us, it’s time for a well-earned Christmas break. Our team will be closing up for the holidays to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We’ll be back in the office on January 5th, refreshed and ready to hit the ground running.

The new year is shaping up to be an exciting one, with plenty of great things ahead, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next. Thank you again for your continued support throughout the year — here’s to a safe, happy Christmas and an even bigger year ahead.
