From the workshop to Quakers Friars. 🪵👌

I’ve had these bespoke oak corner and arch beads specially commissioned for our restoration project, made by a long-time friend of mine at Stuart Interiors. The craftsmanship is incredible, from the curved arches to the beautifully shaped profiles.

They’ll form the traditional detailing around the arched windows and external corners. Once the lime render is brought up to the beads, I’ll create a shadow gap around them—a small recessed line between the render and oak, recreating the detail used when the property was originally built.

It’s details like these that make this project so special, and I can’t wait to see it all come together. These are going to look absolutely stunning once fitted and rendered.

A massive thank you to and the team at for their outstanding work. 🙌

What a transformation 👌🔥

Full hack-off of the existing render, followed by a complete PRB lime render system—from base coat through to the monocouche top coat, finished with handcrafted quoins.

Every quoin formed and cut by hand, bringing definition and character back to this home. Time and care in the details make all the difference.

I’m incredibly proud of my team. The hard work, skill and attention to detail they’ve put into this job show in the finished result. Thank you, lads—you’ve done us proud. 👏🧡

Looking sharp by day, and even better with the lights on. 💡🏡

You can’t rush this kind of work… 👌

Handcrafting the quoins one by one directly into the lime render. Every section has to be carefully formed, straightened and worked by hand to get those sharp, clean edges before the lime starts to turn.

There’s no mould producing these and no pre-made corners being stuck onto the building — this detail is being created from the render itself, on the wall, using traditional techniques.

It takes considerably longer, but when you stand back and see those corners taking shape, it’s worth every minute. 🔥

Keeping traditional rendering skills alive.

From a raw backing coat to a hand-finished feature 👌

This is traditional lime rendering at its best — built in layers using a Lime Centre UNO backing coat, devil floated to create the perfect mechanical key for the coloured lime top coat.

The real craftsmanship comes above the arched window, where the decorative finish has been formed entirely by hand. Every detail reflects the patience, skill and care that go into a proper heritage finish.

Traditional lime rendering is more than a finish — it’s a craft worth appreciating. Get in touch to discuss your next project.

A lime-render transformation that brings this heritage façade back to life 👌

Finished in a richly coloured lime top coat, with crisp hand-cut ashlar lines adding depth, rhythm, and character across the surface. Every detail has been carefully worked around the original Hamstone windows, allowing their warm golden tones and historic craftsmanship to remain the centrepiece.

Traditional materials. Skilled hands. A finish built to last. 🔥

A few busy days on my own. All copping stones laid, then a two coat sand and cement render with a yellow pebble dash over the top of this loooong curved wall.

Throwing the pebbles, this is trickier than it looks. To get it all uniformed and looking right takes practice. Used my sons toy spade, was just the right tool for the job 🪏
