A look at two of the latest JCB additions to the fleet at M J Troup Plant Hire, based in Callington, Cornwall.

Specialising in Plant Hire and Groundworks across Cornwall, M J Troup has invested in a JCB 8008E Micro Excavator and JCB HTD-5E Tracked Dumpster, both part of the growing JCB E-TECH range.

Working as a pair, these compact electric machines offer a practical solution for excavation and material handling, particularly where access is restricted and noise and exhaust emissions need to be kept to a minimum.

JCB HTD-5E | Electric Tracked Dumpster
🟡 500kg carrying capacity for efficient movement of excavated material and aggregates.
⚫️ 706mm machine width, allowing access through narrow spaces.
🟡 1.45m high tip discharge clearance, suitable for loading skips and higher sided containers.
⚡️ Electric tracked drive, providing controlled manoeuvrability across confined sites.
⚫️ Low-noise operation and zero exhaust emissions at point of use, opening up opportunities for indoor and noise-sensitive work.

Together, they demonstrate how electric machinery can offer genuine commercial advantages across Groundworks, Construction, Landscaping and Plant Hire, while retaining the practical capabilities Operators depend upon.

Powering an entire site is quite a responsibility. And one we certainly don't take lightly at Holt JCB.
Our latest delivery to RIG Corp Ltd is a JCB G545QX Generator, now providing the power for their Newquay facility in Cornwall.
RIG is doing some impressive work in sustainable Waste Management, using innovative processing technology to recover valuable materials, reduce landfill and return recycled aggregates to the Construction industry.
The generator joins their JCB 220X Excavator which RIG invested in earlier this summer, two very different machines supporting different aspects of the same operation.
The G545QX is more than up to the challenge:
⚡ 500 kVA Prime Power, designed for continuous power demands.
⚡ Up to 550 kVA Standby Power, providing additional capacity for emergency power requirements.
⚡ 740-litre bunded fuel tank, supporting extended operation between refuelling.
⚡ Acoustic, weatherproof canopy, reducing noise and protecting equipment from the elements.
⚡ Digital control panel, providing clear monitoring of operating conditions and generator performance.
⚡ Integrated safety protection, including emergency stop controls and electrical protection systems.

For Directors Tom and Jamie Hutchings, taking delivery of two new JCB 3CX PRO DualDrive Backhoe Loaders was a proud moment for their business.
Jamie and Tom were joined at our Exeter Depot by their father Jonathan and Operator Bradley, and spent time talking through the specification, controls and operation of the new machines before delivery. An opportunity to understand exactly how the specification they have chosen works in practice.
