Two compact roller shutters with aluminium curtains with hard resin infill used to combat solar gain through the window and patio door of this property.
Both are electrical operation finished in standard white colour to help reflect the heat.
The customer has enjoyed a big reduction in the internal temperature of the property after we installed these shutters.
We are receiving a surge in enquiries and sales from customers due to the changing climate and hot sunny days producing high heat build up through glass windows and doors.
We can also offer within this system the facility for the shutters to close automatically once a preset temperature is reached, this works from a central hub and can also be controlled from a dedicated smart phone app from anywhere as long as there is a Wi-Fi connection.
Not only do these shutters provide heat reduction in the summer they also offer insulation in the winter and all year round security upgrade when closed.

A kitchen window, one of two windows suffering from exceptional heat build up due to hot weather and being in direct sunlight.
This inside picture shows the effect of one of the externally installed insulated aluminium roller shutters in the closed but vented position.
These shutters are electric operation and can be fully closed to shut the vented laths up completely, then fully automatically lock in the fully closed position.
This installation is particularly neat as the shutters are controlled internally from wall mounted cordless rocker switches plus they can also be closed from key fob style remote controls that allow the patio door to be used as the main entry / exit door of the building with no external visible controls or switches to be tampered with.
This compact aluminium shutter system fitted with aluminium laths with hard resin infill in vented or non vented format provides insulation from both heat & cold, with vented laths they allow enough light to pass through that provides shade also giving the added advantage of privacy but in all instances they provide additional security to the building when fully closed.

For domestic roller shutters, sun and heat reducing shutters & blinds give us a call on 01179603526 or 07802757714.
We also carry out repairs to all makes and types of roller shutters.

Here we have another steel fire exit door and steel framework supplied and installed by About Security for a customer in Bristol, it replaces a very rotten timber fire exit door.
This door has been made to measure and fitted with additional security deadbolts operated internally by thumb turns so no need for a key to unlock the door although the policy is to have the door locks opened first thing on opening the building and locking them last thing at night.
The furniture fitted to this door is fairly typical of what most of our customers are happy with, there are no external handles or locks visible on the outside of the door and a hold open restrictor is commonly fitted to the top of the door to prevent over opening and damage to the hinges , the hold open function is also very useful to keep the door in the open position and preventing the wind closing the door unintendingly.
Other furniture options are available and the doors are manufactured to accommodate each individual situation.
A full range of standard colors are available to choose from and delivery times are around 3 weeks from final survey to installation
a faster service is also available for emergency situations.

A recently installed manual operation roller garage door for a customer who is converting a garage into two separate rooms.
A popular choice with some customers who are splitting the garage space for home office or other extra room but keeping the smaller section at the front of the garage for bikes, bin storage or similar use .
By having a manual roller door to replace an up and over door fits the bill as these roller doors coil typically into a10 inch square box and does not require any electrical motor or as electrical shutters it does not require any manual override facility to gain entry into the garage in the event of power failure.
These doors are individually manufactured with twin walled aluminium laths with hard resin infill to provide a very strong but compact door.
Locking is provided by a centre lock fitted within the bottom rail of the curtain with locking bars throwing outwards into the side guides when locked.
The doors operate from a spring assisted barrel assembly so operation and lifting of the door is extremely easy.

A retractable security grille recently installed by About Security in a domestic house to protect vulnerable French doors at the rear of the property.
These grilles do not only provide additional security all year around but also offer secure ventilation of the building when they are closed and the French doors are open, especially useful for warmer days especially as we move into the summer months.

Retractable grilles need little to no maintenance and when installed correctly, offer many years of hassle free operation.
They are available in a full range of standard RAL powder coat paint finishes but by far the most popular colour chosen by our customers is white.

New door entrance security roller shutter manufactured and installed by About Security to a local Bristol business.
Galvanized steel roller shutters are often chosen by customers as go to product especially when installed in quiet out of hours areas such as trading estates that are often targeted by thieves.
About Security also offer aluminium roller shutters that are more compact in construction and available in various colours as standard, they are often used in areas where a smaller neater more compact shutter system is required and these also can be found on our website along with steel security doors, fire doors, retractable security grilles, welded fixed and hinged grilles, bar & servery shutters, certified fire shutters and domestic roller garage doors, roller shutter repairs and roller garage door repairs.

Multiple commercial galvanized steel roller shutters recently installed by About Security.
These shutters are plain galvanized finish steel that is the most popular finish requested by customers although a full range of powder coat paint finishes are also available.
A mix of electrical operation and also manual spring assisted are shown in the pictures attached.
Unfortunately security to doors is often overlooked until such time as forced entry to the building happens then they are usually the first choice to upgrade the buildings security.
