Careful restoration of a very special Grade II* Georgian home.

From early layout sketches, through to a complex planning journey and a full interior design scheme, we worked closely with our client to reimagine this home.

Working in collaboration with our build partner Moon Build, we’ve protected the details that matter most, and brought this beautiful home back to life.

Project reveal coming soon.

In a true shaker style, coach house was a project driven by an honest material approach.

Where possible, we focussed on solid and natural materials over man made.

Each space celebrates a different species and tone of timber, adding natural character and warmth.

Using timber panelling throughout the home, but changing the species in each space gave us the opportunity to add variety and interest while maintaining a familiarity.

After many weeks of waiting.. we’ve now, finally received planning permission for this stunning new build home overlooking the Avon Gorge.

Now to focus on refining the details that will make this home extra special.

Looking forward to standing on that balcony to check out the views!

Stretching across an unusually wide plot, Charlton House in Cheltenham was designed to maximise light and connection to its stunning garden.

Stone grounds the architecture while timber elements connect the house with its pool house and garage, creating a calm, cohesive family retreat.

More shots from our latest completed project..

Inside, the material story continues. Exposed buff brick and oak joinery match the exterior palette. A strong horizontal ‘datum’, drawn from window and door heads and zinc line outside, helps to build a connection and provides alignment for fitted furniture. We kept the kitchen intentionally understated, allowing the architecture and garden to take focus.

Looking forward to sharing photography soon.

Defined by its site characteristics and a clear client brief from the start, this single-storey extension maintained a strong visual identity through each phase of its design.

From its early 3D concept visual, the completed scheme has changed very little. Proof of a grounded, restrained and buildable design.

Red zinc, buff brick and warm oak joinery combine to create a refined contemporary addition.

Reviews like this mean a lot.

The right design solutions aren’t enforced on a project, but come from a lot of listening, and are borne out of collaboration.

A modest garden room extension designed to contrast and complement.

Careful reconfiguration and contemporary additions have transformed this Edwardian home, creating garden-facing living spaces. Exterior materials were selected to connect the architecture more closely with landscaping, while a glazed porch and bespoke joinery complete the update.

From whole house refurb to oak-framed garden retreat.

Working alongside Moon Build and Artisan Landscapes, this project is a testament to what happens when architect and builder share a commitment to design and craftsmanship. An understanding that delivering great projects comes from collaboration, communication and care at every stage.

And the views over the Avon Gorge aren’t bad either..

Reworking a Victorian coach house.

This project converts a former offices into a crafted contemporary home.

Guided by Shaker principles and Japanese techniques, the design prioritises honest construction, using solid timber, traditional joinery, and enduring materials.

The layout was completely reconfigured, relocating living spaces to the first floor level, to benefit from the additional light and space available.

A new mansard level above adds additional bedrooms, while a small courtyard is reimagined as a central subtropical garden, bringing light, greenery and a visual connection to each level.
