We made it through this summer's heat and really hope your garden has, too. Time to mulch, reconsider what thrives, and plan for long-lasting gardens.
Summers in the UK are unlikely to get cooler, but we’re of the mindset that there’s a great plant for every climate, substrate (within reason, Mr Concrete), and amount of water. Let’s not flock to irrigation systems but think about how roots can seek water all on their own or perhaps not need very much at all; in the words of Beth Chatto, ‘right plant, right place’.
