What does it take to keep Markson running? 👏

From the first “Hello, this is Markson” to coordinating schedules, managing projects, supporting clients and keeping everything moving, our office team plays an important part in the work we do.

While much of our work happens on-site and across the properties we look after, there's plenty happening behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Whether it's construction, property management, maintenance or bespoke joinery, good communication and teamwork are at the heart of how Markson operates.

Most of us have this conversation every day without thinking twice. But sometimes, the answer isn't quite that simple.

With World Mental Health Day coming up this Saturday, it's a good reminder to look out for the people around us, whether that's on-site, in the office, at home or anywhere in between.

This year's theme, “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change,” is about more than just encouraging people to speak up. It's also about taking the time to genuinely listen.

And sometimes that starts with the smallest things. Checking in with someone properly, putting your phone down for a few minutes, or simply giving them the space to talk without feeling judged.

We don't always know what someone else might be going through, and we don't always need to have the answers. Sometimes, just being there can make a difference.

More than just construction 👏

Markson has grown a lot over the years, and today our work covers much more than building projects.

What started as a construction company with ambitions to grow into other areas of property has gradually developed into something much broader. From construction, we expanded into property management, then maintenance, and now bespoke joinery.

The aim has always been to offer clients a more complete service across their properties while keeping the same team, standards and attention to detail behind everything we do.

Whether it’s managing a property, carrying out a renovation, handling ongoing maintenance or creating something bespoke in the workshop, each part of Markson now works alongside the others.

And with Markson Joinery recently opening its doors to the public, there’s plenty more still to come.

Small issues are easier to manage before they become expensive problems.

Regular property inspections help us monitor the condition of the whole building - from roofing and external fabric to communal areas - and spot potential issues early.

Cracking, deterioration and general wear can all develop over time, which is why a proactive approach to property management matters.

By identifying issues early, we can prioritise maintenance, plan repairs more effectively and help reduce unnecessary disruption for owners and residents.

With our dedicated Property Maintenance team, we can also coordinate and carry out the works needed once issues are identified.

Today is World Heart Day❤️

Cardiovascular disease remains the world’s biggest killer, affecting millions of people and families every year.

This year’s World Heart Day message is “Don’t Miss a Beat”, we encourage people to recognise that heart disease can sometimes go unnoticed and to pay more attention to the signs, symptoms and risk factors that can affect our heart health.

Looking after your heart doesn’t always mean making huge changes. Staying active, eating well, avoiding to***co, knowing your blood pressure and getting checked when something doesn’t feel right can all play a part.

It’s a good reminder for all of us to take our health seriously, look out for the people around us and not ignore the signs our bodies might be giving us.

A professional photographer’s perspective on the work behind the finished projects 📸

As you may remember from the sneak peek a couple of weeks ago, we recently had Sean Ebsworth spend some time with the team on site, capturing the parts of the job that usually happen away from the finished photos.

From measuring and setting out to first fix, structural work and all the smaller details in between, it was great to have the everyday work documented properly.

A lot of what goes into a project is hidden by the time the final result is ready, so these photos give a much better look at the skill, effort and attention that goes into getting there.

A big thank you to Sean for the brilliant photography and for capturing the team so naturally while they were working. We’re looking forward to working with you again and would highly recommend your work. on Instagram.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

Mental health affects people across every walk of life, but it can be especially difficult in industries where people are often expected to stay strong, keep going, and deal with things quietly.

That’s why days like today matter. Not because one post fixes anything, but because it gives us a reason to talk about something that can otherwise be easy to ignore.

Checking in with someone, asking how they’re really doing, or simply making it clear that there’s someone there to listen can make more of a difference than we sometimes realise.

We want to encourage people to look out for each other, speak openly when things are getting difficult and remember that asking for help is never something to be embarrassed about.

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available.

Happy 1 year at Markson to James Robinson! 🎉

James joined us in September 2025 as our Head of Property Management and has played a major role in Markson Property Management's growth over the past year.

James brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the role, but just as importantly, he puts a lot of thought and hard work into managing the team. That’s reflected in the department's progress and how it continues to develop.

A big thank you for everything you’ve brought to Markson over your first year, James - we’re looking forward to seeing where the next one takes us 👏

Something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time is finally coming to Markson… 👀

This is something we’ve been planning and working towards for a long time, and we’re now getting very close to opening the doors to our new joinery workshop.🎉

It’s an exciting new side of the business for us, allowing us to offer an even more complete service across our projects, while also opening the workshop for trade and selected private work.

Most importantly, we’re looking forward to doing what the workshop was built for - crafting and showcasing some beautiful bespoke joinery.

There’s still a little more to do before we officially open, but we couldn’t wait any longer to give you a sneak peek.
