🏡 A great day at the Retrofit West Home Energy Fair in Bristol!

Ben and John enjoyed meeting homeowners at St Anne’s House on Saturday, chatting about everything from airtightness and ventilation to MVHR, Passivhaus and energy-efficient retrofit.

It was great to see so much interest in making homes warmer, healthier and more energy efficient.

We particularly enjoyed hearing real-life retrofit stories, told by the homeowners themselves, sharing their experiences, the improvements they've made and what they've learnt along the way.

Some excellent talks, plenty of useful conversations and, of course, free cake! ☕🍰

A big thank you to Retrofit West for organising such a worthwhile event.

A basement flat with thick stone walls calls for careful planning when installing MVHR.

We designed and installed a Zehnder MVHR system for Ian to help address humidity in his home. The stone walls made the installation challenging, so it’s lovely to hear that he found our team great to work with and was pleased with the quality of the installation.

🔨 Progress update from our Bristol Passive House EnerPHit retrofit project.

Since our last update, the new timber I-joist roof structure has been completed and filled with wood fibre insulation. Inside, the MVHR system has been installed.

Next, the team is preparing to fit wood fibre insulation to the external walls. It’s another significant step as we work towards EnerPHit certification for this home.

We’ll share more as the project progresses.
