🌧 The Weather Doesn't Stop Work… But It Changes the Risks
Rain, heat, wind and ice all affect site safety.
Changing conditions can increase:
• Slips and trips
• Excavation instability
• Reduced visibility
• Manual handling risks
• Electrical hazards
Taking five minutes to reassess conditions before work starts could prevent an incident.
Safe work means adapting to changing environments.

👷 Experience Builds Confidence. Complacency Creates Risk.
The longer we've worked in construction, the easier it can be to think:
"I've done this hundreds of times."
That's often when shortcuts appear.
The safest professionals are usually the ones who continue to:
✔ Follow procedures
✔ Carry out checks
✔ Ask questions
✔ Keep learning
Experience and competence go hand in hand.
Never stop doing the basics well.

🎓 Training Is About More Than Passing the Course

A certificate matters.

But what delegates take back to site matters even more.

At GTE Training Academy, our training is backed by decades of real construction and tunnelling experience.

Our trainers understand the pressures, hazards and realities of working on site because they've experienced them themselves.

That means practical discussions, real-world examples and training that delegates can relate to.

⚠️ Five Minutes Could Change the Outcome

Before starting a task, ask:

✔ Has anything changed since yesterday?
✔ Are the controls still suitable?
✔ Is the equipment safe to use?
✔ Does everyone understand the task?
✔ Is there a safer way of doing it?

On busy construction and tunnelling projects, it can be tempting to get straight to work.

But conditions change.

People change.

Equipment changes.

Taking a few minutes to reassess the risks isn't wasted time — it's part of doing the job properly.

Never let familiarity replace a safety check.
