After a week in Spain and effectively cooking at gas mark 6…..

…..it is pretty refreshing to be back in Blightly with the potential for biblical storms later in the week!

Talking of refreshing, my diary is bulging however I will make time to help you rejuvenate any aspect of your home / workspace / garden that may need a little TLC.

It's friday, there's an amber health alert in Sussex and Sainsburys have run out of ice cream.....

Which is not so amazing however on a positive note, I have been busier than ever helping my clients getting their houses & gardens into tip top shape for the balmy summer weeks ahead.

My customer had a freshly plastered entertainment wall that after priming & painting as well as mitring / fitting & painting the new skirting boards (even if I do say so myself) is looking resplendent !

For those of you who have been waiting on tenterhooks since last weeks cliffhanger post……

……I have to confess, at the time I secretly felt I may of over embellished a tad however, the last week has been equally as amazing and immensely stressful at the same time.

The decorating project I referred to was a brilliant experience, working on communal flats decorating the entrance, hallways, interior woodwork as well some tricky floorboard repairs. The guys in all the flats were unbelievably gracious and generous whilst I was toiling away……I even came away with a chicken chow mein one day, I mean - how good is that??

The downturn came when my wife called to tell me my little girl had catapulted off our trampoline and now looks like very similar to Mr Bump and has an upcoming operation to fix her broken arm !!

Thank you to everyone I’ve spoken to and who I’ve had to rearrange appointments / jobs with, it is incredibly generous and I really do appreciate it.

Question. What happens when you inadvertently book a week of gardening work, during the hottest May week ever?��

My advice? Get hold of some factor 100 sunscreen (who knew?), frequently find a shady corner and most importantly, book jobs with clients that will keep you topped up with water, keep checking in on you and were happy for me reduce my work day slightly when the sun got too bonkers 🔥🔥🔥

I installed new flowerbed edging boards for my first amazing customer of the week and today finished up spray painting fencing and a gate for another one.��

Both were absolutely overjoyed with the results, I miraculously didn’t get burnt and for now at least, the sun's still out !

No you're right, I'm not an antiques expert but....
...the door I got to work on today was certainly pretty old, felt a little historic and was just a privilege to paint. I also managed to squeeze in both window reveals, sills and frames before it rained for 2 minutes and nearly giving me a nervous breakdown.

Luckily, all was well and happily, my wonderful customer was absolutely over the moon. And I can't really ask for more than that.

WFH? I thought that business was all over......
...and then I had a brainwave regarding one of my customer's requests to make their unsightly exterior 'coal cupboard' look a bit more presentable.

I found a gate that was very nearly a perfect fit, made a few alterations, primed it and painted it in my own garden in the glorious sunshine - and fitted earlier this week.

Customers verdict : "magnificent!" which will, as they say, do me!

It was only last week that I got burnt (yep, again) brightening up the outside of my clients home with a bonus bathroom spruce up thrown in too....
