Gutter Season is here.

Now the weather is starting to take a turn for the worse, customers are starting to notice issues with their gutters.

This customer noticed the water was overflowing over the side of their gutters. You can just about to see some of the weeds growing out of the guttering if you walk half way up the garden.

Gutter Vac sucked this out no problem. I was surprised how much came out. The photo was just what come out of the rear of this property.

The front wasn't as bad as the rear. That makes sense as the front is south facing so it gets more sun.

I also left a business card with the neighbour as I noticed they had weeds growing from their gutters too.

Back at my Primary School today. 🥳

24 Windows Cleaned, was a long day. These haven't been cleaned in years. I was there around 10 hours.

Was a good day. I was knacked by the end of it.

Was nice to do something that helps the school out. 👍

Im really not a fan of these gutter brushes.

This job was a bit of a nightmare. I didn't realize the gutters had these brushes in until I got to the job. The front ones were cable tied in. Wasn't that easy getting up there to cut the ties off. Massive bike shed I had to work around. When I pulled the brushes out, dirt went flying everywhere, including all over me and down my T shirt.

Rear gutters weren't cable tied in but I couldn't remove them with the gutter vac. I had to get up there on a ladder. The rear of this property was three storeys high. Luckily the customer footed the ladder for me.

These gutter brushes just made clearing the gutters three times longer. I personally think they are a waste of money. How are you meant to clear the gutters using a gutter vac with these in them? I've just found them on Screwfix and they are £80. I would not recommend anyone getting these. Theses ones ended up getting throw in the bin.

Job from yesterday I forgot to upload. 😇

I wasn't to motivated to do this Window Clean yesterday but it went better than I expected.

Three main reasons I wasn't looking forward to this one.

1. Parking. Permit holder only road. I'm always looking over my shoulder when parking is a issue.

2. Access to the rear of the property. Access to the rear garden was a little unique, instead of having a side path or a back gate, a number of properties all shared the same ally to the gardens. Access to the ally was two houses up. I had to walk down a small ally, between the neighbors gardens then round the back of the bottom of the gardens to gain access to the property I was cleaning. A little longer than normal and its annoying when the hose keeps getting stuck on all the bushes.

3. Front Bay Windows. To get in a position were I could clean the right-hand side bay windows I had to clean them from the neighbors side. Not idea.

All in all though, job went smooth. I did miss one of the front windows which I realized just after I packed up so had to get everything out again but didn't take long. These wooden sash windows were still in good condition. Sometimes they can take ages to rinse off if all the paint is peeling off but these ones weren't too bad.

The customers wife was happy with final result so we are in the clear. 😉

Couple of Before & After Pictures from one of yesterdays jobs.

I priced this job 4 months ago from some photos I was sent via Facebook.

Booked the job in last week & completed it yesterday.

Customers were gathering some quotes. Ended up with me. 🤣

This property was 2 flats that looks like a large house. That explains why the upstairs windows are a different style from the ground floor windows.

No trickle vents on any of these windows so that saved me some time. 😍

This property was in an area that is new to me. I see some potential around there. I should canvas it at some point. Once you get a few jobs in an area, you slowly start to pick up more over time. 🙏

These windows had not been cleaned for at least 8 years.

Cleaned up similar to the rest of the houses I have cleaned in this area. I have done so many now I rarely take photos. 🤣

One thing I did notice on this clean was a couple of the window panes were damaged. Looks like they had been hit with something or maybe had a stone thrown at them. Told the customer, she hadn't noticed them before.

Van key FOB stopped working on Friday, took the key apart Friday evening expecting it to just be a flat battery but it was a broken terminal connecting the battery to the circuit board. Found a replacement on amazon and fix it. Only issue I have now is the key case is broken so Ive had to glue the key back together and put a bit of tape on it just incase the glue doesn't hold. Im going to have to get a replacement key at some point. At least the FOB's working again.

Wheel on my hose reel fell off. Luckily when it fell off I heard the little washer that holds it on fall off and I picked it up and put it in the van. Easy fix.

Has been a good week this week however. Been a busy week. Only had 2 jobs reschedule. I've noticed I get a lot more jobs rescheduling in the summer months compared to the winter months. Was the same last year.

Looks like the heat wave we have recently had has come to an end. It's been a real struggle working in the heat. Weather forecast for this week is expecting it to be a lot cooler. 🤞

These high level window cleans are hard work. It's a workout just getting the pole up and down. 🤣
