⚠️ WARNING: Shaws fitters get high in Brighton... And we go back to college! 😎
It’s been another busy period for the whole Shaws team across Brighton, Hove and Sussex and judging by some of this week's photos, a few of the boys have been getting rather high in Brighton! All safely in the name of getting the job done, of course!😂⬆️

☀️ Before we get into this week post, I'd like to give a big thank you shout out again to all of our fitting crews. They've continued to deliver fantastic installations across Sussex while working through some seriously hot weather recently. From domestic installations to large commercial projects, they've kept going and maintained the high standards our customers expect from Shaws.

So, what have we been up to?
🚘 A Trip To Worthing Audi
Something a little different for our commercial team this week, replacing large glazed units at Worthing Audi. Specialist access equipment was required to safely install the glass which was a whoppng 285KG another example of the variety of commercial glazing projects Shaws can undertake.

🎓 We've been to Brighton Prep School, installing new commercial entrance doors. Checkout the Brighton College, where the new high-performance aluminium glazed roof is just about there.

🔹 Vertical Sliding Windows Our Classic white PVCU vertical sliders installed into a beautiful period property, maintaining its traditional appearance while bringing the benefits of modern glazing.

🔹 Dual-Colour Timber Door. A smart grey finish externally with classic white internally, demonstrating how your new door can complement both the outside of your home and your interior décor, plus also turning our hands to fidying up the plaster line.

🔹 Full-Height Aluminium Door Slim aluminium framing combined with a large glazed area to create a clean contemporary entrance while allowing plenty of natural light inside.

🏡 Care Home Transformation
Progress continues on our major care home project, with structural steelwork now going into the new orangery and garden room. It's fantastic to see these new spaces gradually taking shape.

What a week it’s been across Brighton, Hove and Sussex!
We’ve had sunshine, soaring temperatures, a partial solar eclipse... and amongst all that, our Shaws teams have been busy transforming homes, working on some of Brighton’s best-known buildings and progressing larger projects.

Sussex had its eyes on the skies on Wednesday evening as the partial solar eclipse passed overhead, with people heading to the seafront and viewpoints across the area to catch a glimpse.

Work is underway at the Brighton Centre, where we're replacing a large number of commercial windows.
It's another great example of the commercial side of Shaws, working on some of the area's most recognisable buildings.

🎓 A New Roof Over Brighton College
We’re also at Brighton College, installing a new high-performance Ultraframe aluminium glazed roof onto the existing framework.
A great way to give an existing structure a new lease of life. ☀️

🏡 One Size Fits All? Not At Shaws...

When it comes to windows and doors, we don't believe your home should have to fit around the product. The product should fit your home.

Work is continuing nicely on our latest project at Crawley, including new vertical sliding windows and a security fire door.

Some windows deserve a good view... and these certainly got one!

We've been installing stunning black-on-white flush timber windows into this coastal property, including dormers, bays and casements.

The traditional styling is finished beautifully with monkey-tail handles, while the dark frames perfectly capture those incredible sea views.

We wouldn't get much work done if that were the view from the office! 😎🌊

🔨 Sometimes Fitting The Window Is Only Part Of The Job...

Another recent project involved new PVCU vertical sliding windows and French doors, including a large fanlight.

But this installation required much more than simply taking the old windows out and putting the new ones in.

There was considerable work needed around the edges of the vertical sliders before our team could install decorative architraves, leaving everything properly finished and ready for painting.

It's the sort of detail that might not always make the glamorous "after" photograph, but it's an important part of getting the job done properly. 👌

🚨 BROOM HOSTAGE SITUATION! 🧹
Not all emergency call-outs involve windows or doors... sometimes they involve the safe return of an important member of the Shaws team... 😂

One of our fitters recently completed another successful installation, but accidentally left an important colleague behind...🧹 The broom.

When we contacted the homeowner to arrange an appointment to fit some window restrictors, everything seemed perfectly normal, until the reply and photo came back.

"Monday 29th at 1:30... or the broom gets it!!" 😳😂

It turns out our broom had been taken hostage, and the only way to secure its safe release was to attend the appointment and fit the restrictors before the deadline!

We're pleased to confirm that "Operation Sweep Home" has now been authorised, our rescue team is standing by, and we're optimistic that the negotiations will end with everyone... including the broom... making it home safely. 🧹✅
