As the business continues to grow across heating, plumbing and air conditioning, we are looking for an experienced Heating & Plumbing Engineer to join us.
This is not a trainee or improver position. You must already be an experienced engineer who can confidently work independently, particularly with domestic boilers, heating systems and fault-finding.
The Role
This is primarily a heating-focused role with a varied range of domestic plumbing work.
You will attend customers’ homes across Brighton, Hove and Sussex, carrying out servicing, repairs, fault-finding, installations and general plumbing work.
Your work will include:
• Domestic boiler servicing
• Boiler breakdown diagnosis and repair
• Central-heating system fault-finding
• Heating controls and electrical fault-finding
• Pumps, motorised valves and wiring centres
• Radiator and circulation problems
• Sealed-system pressure faults
• Cylinders and hot-water faults
• Boiler replacements and commissioning
• General plumbing repairs and installations
• Taps, toilets, showers and associated plumbing
• Advising customers clearly and professionally
• Completing accurate job records and paperwork
No two days are the same.
You will also have the support of an experienced office team who organise appointments and day-to-day administration, allowing you to concentrate on your work and customers.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
You must have:
• Current domestic gas qualifications, including CCN1 and CENWAT
• Proven domestic plumbing and heating experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ domestic heating and boiler fault-finding experience
• Confidence servicing domestic boilers independently
• Proven boiler breakdown and repair experience
• Strong central-heating fault-finding knowledge
• Experience diagnosing heating controls, pumps, valves, radiators, cylinders, pressure and circulation faults
• Practical general plumbing experience
• A full UK driving licence
• Good customer communication skills
• Clean, tidy and professional workmanship
• The ability to work safely and independently
• A reliable, committed and hardworking attitude
Additional Qualifications
The following would be an advantage but are not essential:
• LPG qualifications
• Oil qualifications
• Unvented hot-water qualification
• Air-conditioning experience or qualifications
• Strong heating controls and electrical fault-finding experience
