Our commitment to local communities goes far beyond project completion. We finished construction on the Wild Park Rainscape over a year ago, however we were delighted to return this year to support the second annual Wild Park Community Festival.
Building strong community connections has been so important here to help protect the long-term future of the balancing ponds and surrounding green spaces. We're excited for the newly-formed community to take ownership of these assets to ensure they are valued and cared for in years to come.
The key to successful community development is listening. When Trust for Developing Communities told us the event needed toilets to make it accessible and welcoming, our Procurement Team sprung into action, working with our Portaloo supplier to make this happen. We also supported the event with a bouncy castle and food for local families.
"On behalf of TDC, Moulsecoomb Local Action Team and Action for Bevendean Community I wanted to say a big thank you for Mackley’s support with our big Wild Park Community Event last weekend! We had a fabulous day with lots of sunshine and lots of people. We are estimating about 500 people attended throughout the event, and it was a big success with lots of local people known and new connecting with local community and activity groups as well as city-wide services, as well as the lovely Rainscape." Anke, Trust for Developing Communities.
This is what legacy looks like. Not just delivering infrastructure, but continuing to support the communities who benefit long after construction is complete.
