HMO FIRE ALARM SYSTEM INSTALLATION 🔥 that we carried out a few months ago!

Another HMO fire alarm system successfully completed by BMH Electrical Contractors.

The system was installed with detectors positioned where required, while taking great care to minimise damage to the property.

Some areas were particularly challenging, with a flat roof above and no loft access, making traditional cable routes difficult. Rather than causing unnecessary damage, we used precisely angled drilling techniques to achieve the required cable routes while keeping disruption to an absolute minimum. 👌⚡

What a transformation this was! 👍🏻💡

Three years ago, we had the pleasure of carrying out a lighting and ceiling upgrade at St George’s Parish Centre.

A nice personal touch to this project for me—I actually went to play school there many years ago!

The works included:
✅ New suspended ceiling throughout
✅ New lighting circuits and switches in the main hall
✅ JCC LED ceiling panel lights installed, with integrated emergency lighting where required
✅ Two new JCC LED 6ft battens fitted in the entrance and kitchen areas
✅ Ceiling insulation installed throughout to improve energy efficiency

A fantastic project to be involved in, and great to look back on the transformation!

✨ Kitchen Electrical Alterations & New Consumer Unit - Completed in Bridgwater ✨

Another happy customer with their new kitchen installation.

🔹 Kitchen electrics altered to suit the new layout
🔹 New LED downlights installed
🔹 Additional sockets added
🔹 Cooker and hob supplies relocated
🔹 New consumer unit installed for the kitchen circuits
🔹 Fully tested, certified & NICEIC notified

The existing fuse board was an older rewireable type, which isn’t designed to provide the level of protection expected in modern installations. By installing a dedicated consumer unit for the new kitchen circuits, the customer now benefits from improved safety and protection.

❓ Does your consumer unit (fuse board) look similar to the one in our before photo?

Older fuse boards may:
⚠️ Lack RCD protection that can help prevent electric shock
⚠️ Use outdated rewireable fuses that are slower to disconnect faults
⚠️ Offer limited protection for modern electrical demands
⚠️ Potentially affect home insurance or electrical safety reports

Proud to have played a part in helping get this project completed for Steve and the team at The Merry Monk in Taunton.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve carried out extensive electrical work throughout the kitchen, including rewiring most of the kitchen areas, DB upgrades, and power installations to support the new equipment — including the 3 new Rational ovens and replacement cooking equipment.

This project involved multiple night shifts to ensure the kitchen could continue operating with minimal disruption while the works were carried out safely and efficiently.

It’s great to see the finished result and the investment being made into both the kitchen and customer experience. The hard work from everyone involved has clearly paid off.

The distance people travel for the carvery says everything about the standards Steve and his team work to day in and day out.

The kitchen has finally been finished it has been working progress over past 2 years.

We have now 3 rational ovens in place and have now replaced the old oven and chargrill

I am quite happy to show any customers the kitchen in service or out of service

I feel customers have the right to see what there eating and meet the back of house team if you choose too

We have worked tirelessly to make The Merry Monk a family pub

The distance people travel to eat the carvery is a testament to the staff front and back of house of the service we now provide

Well done to each and everyone for the effort you all put in day in and day out
