⚡️This TT earthing system uses a copper ground spike to provide its earth. Initially, we tested the installation and found the original spike gave a high reading over 200 ohms. This classified it as unstable and unsafe. To resolve this unsafe situation, we removed the original spike and installed a new one using a 16mm earth cable wired in conduit to the correct spike position. The new spike has improved the installation’s safety, with a reading below 100 ohms. ⚡️

⚡️Kennel lighting ⚡️

Last year I completed a job to light up six dog kennels. Steel-wired armoured cable was pulled in from a nearby shed supply, conduit was then mounted along the back of the kennels. This high-up mounting, just below the corrugated roof, ensured rainwater flowed off without touching the conduit. Each light was then wired through the back, leaving only the light visible in the kennels. 🐾🦴

I’m pleased with the outcome; it provides plenty of light for those early morning starts on a working farm. 🐓

I’ve installed a time clock and standalone photocell for the outside lights. This means the customer no longer has to switch them on and can’t leave them on when not needed. ⚡️

The time clock activates the photocell and when the light levels drop sufficiently the photocell switches the lights on. Together these devices ensure consistent operation throughout the winter and summer daylight hours. ⚡️
