OGV Electrical are proud to finally showcase the story of our Denny Project!

This short film gives an insight into how we approach solar and battery installations at OGV Electrical, we focus on quality, long-term solutions and working with businesses we trust.

Our roofing partner - Rooftec Scotland - has built an excellent reputation over the past 18 years in the Central Belt from their high-quality roofing and workmanship.

Our technology partner - Solarwatt - has been at the forefront of the solar industry since 1993. One thing I didn’t imagine when starting OGV Electrical in 2023 was that I would be all over the country meeting amazing people who put their trust in me to carry out projects that when brought back to basics are major investments that are being put into their homes or businesses.

Biggest job we have completed to date and what an amazing project it was!

37x 450W Solarwatt Glass-Glass Panels
2x 6kW Solarwatt Inverter Vision
36.4kWh Solarwatt Battery Vision

At the beginning of this year we began our project alongside our roofing partners Rooftec (Scotland) Ltd where the existing roof covering, which wasn’t suitable for a solar installation of this standard, was stripped off and replaced. We then installed Solarwatt Glass-Glass panels either in-roof or on the flat roof system on the garage.

This full system was completed using the highest quality materials on the market, utilising Sunfixings mounting systems with in-depth wind load calculations carried out. Unlike many in-roof systems, this system uses trapezoidal steel sheets, which offer higher fire resistance than traditional plastic trays.

This is important when utilising such high-quality panels with excellent mechanical strength and fire performance.

This client has a young family and this is their home for decades to come, so using this level of equipment from long-standing manufacturers with comprehensive warranties was vital.

A point to remember when looking at having a system installed is that warranties are only as valuable as the manufacturer standing behind them. In an ever-changing market, a long-standing presence can give confidence that a business has proven its ability to support its products through changing market conditions.

Nairn Project ✅

This installation came through a direct referral from our Kippen project, completed at the end of 2024. Our previous client was so impressed with both the installation and the performance of their system that they recommended us to their close friends.

Installed at this beautiful Georgian-era Manse, a section of the property’s former vegetable garden has been transformed into an 11.7kWp ground-mounted solar array, allowing this high-consumption home to significantly reduce its reliance on imported electricity and protect itself against rising energy costs.

Despite using premium equipment throughout, this installation is expected to achieve a payback period of less than 9 years, with decades of clean, low-cost electricity still to come.
