Back up at the place where I get to relax most—Ledyatt Trout Fishery 🎣

This time, though, I wasn’t fishing—I was working! But what a place to work 😊

The owner, David, needed a hand getting the grass back under control, so I was more than happy to help. David is always helping me with my fishing, so it was nice to return the favour! 💪🌿

🌿 A well-needed garden tidy-up! 🌿

With the truck being off the road, it’s been a challenging few days trying to work out which jobs I could still manage. Thankfully, I was able to get this tidy-up completed, bag all the waste and leave it safely until my trailer was available again—which, thank goodness, it now is! 🙌

I only started maintaining this garden this season, but it was in need of a good, hard cutback. The privet hedge, holly, laurel and several other shrubs were all heavily reduced. There was also an enormous wall of ivy that had been growing for around 70 years and needed a serious amount of work!

With the proper tools and plenty of hard graft—especially on that ivy—the job was completed! 💪

The shrubs may look a little bare just now because the customer requested a severe cutback, but they’ll recover, fill out and look much better over the next couple of growing seasons.

🌿 A wee update for this week 🌿

It’s going to be a bit of an up-and-down week, as the truck is in the garage 🤦‍♂️

I’ll still get around as much of the regular maintenance as possible, but I won’t be able to give exact days or times—so I’ll basically be there when you see me! 🙃

For the tidy-ups booked this week, it’s looking more likely that they’ll be carried over into next week. It’s a big pain in the bum, but unfortunately the repair is necessary.

Thanks for your patience and understanding—I’ll keep everyone updated! 😊

I made the decision to hire in the big boys—and thank goodness I did! What a difference they made, cutting and collecting all that grass. Plenty still to do, but it’s looking better already! 👌
