Good morning

Here is a full bathroom renovation I completed in November last year in crowthorne.

The original job spec was to removed current tiling. Install new shower tray whilst reusing the existing glass screen and install tiles of a similar format.

But that would be far too easy, and the game plan changed by the start date! We lost the shower cubicle walls back to bare walls so the area was reboarded with Jacko board to provide a waterproof backing to help prevent future water ingress. The floor was stripped back to chipboard and new decoupling mat laid and we were ready to the tiling trowels out!

The customer choose these gorgeous green tiles for the walls and toilet boxing. With white porcelain tiles for the floor and it would have been rude not to bring the porcelain up the walls as a skirting detail!

Nearly 600 tiles later this was the outcome! A space completely transformed, brighten up the room.

As I’ve said before I’ve been lucky to learn a lot of different aspects of work over my career, I may be a carpenter by trade but I can cover a wide range of work.

Please feel free to contact with any enquiries you may have currently taking bookings for mid February .

If you could spare a minute to like, follow or share it would be much appreciated

Have an awesome day
Many thanks

Happy new year!

So here’s the long over due update of what I got upto towards the end of last year from September through to December. This will be a 3 part post as there’s a lot more work and pictures than I realised! From stair revamps to full bathroom make overs this is a brilliant showcase of the work I carry out!

Starting of in bracknell for some amazing repeat customers was a full balustrade replacement with new newel posts, handrails and spindles. What a transformation this was!

Over in ascot I carried out dado railing and decorative panelling throughout their kitchen hallway and up the stairwell. The landing window had a new MDF frame installed to square and plumb up the opening finished with architrave to really frame the window in. Also some bespoke floating shelves were installed, where else would you want to keep your superhero figures!

In crowthorne it was onto a beast of a flat roof 10meters x 7meters at the longest span! Monsterous spanned joists with a huge lantern opening and a skylight for the hallway! Annoyingly I didn’t get any pictures of the warm deck roof on there.

Onto a job in woodley for some lovely repeat customers. Tiled kitchen splashback. And some much needed made to measure additional storage space created.

Then to crowthorne for the job that was sent to test my skills! These lovely customers approached me about doing alterations to change their double oven configuration to house a AGA cooker they had purchased! But of course it would never be that simple, the new Aga was a lot wider than the current set up. The granite worktops had to be cut in situ prior to being able to remove the tops and then move the drawer units below to be able to create the required opening size! One wrong cut on the granite and it would have been game over and new worktops required but slow and steady wins the race and what a project I can proudly put my name to!

Off to sandhurst I went for another full balustrade renewal. Bottom newel post swapped out for stop champhered and the old posts champhered to match. With stop chamfer spindles and Beautiful oak handrails and newel posts cap to really bring the staircase back to life!

Lastly for this update back over to Wokingham to get the flooring down on a kitchen job you may remember from earlier this year. Latex was required in places to feather in massively uneven floors prior to nearly 55mm tees squared of LVT click flooring going down. Another ticked of the list and another happy customer!

That’s all for this update, I’ll do the next one over the coming days.

Please feel free to contact with any enquiries you may have.

Thanks for your time and support as always, you’re all awesome!

Many thanks

Good evening ,

So another couple of months has flown by! And it’s been busy as always!

For a customer in bracknell I extended the chimney Breast with an additional storage unit added on the side to gain some much needed space! Then formed a framework with shelving inside for a tumble dryer and washing baskets below. Also I installed a gorgeous lambs tongue skirting throughout downstairs.

Over in Virginia waters we swapped out pantry doors and turned them into a double split bifold system. Also installed two thumbturn locks to bedroom doors.

For a return customer in winnersh I made a bespoke radiator cover to compliment the stair refurb we installed last year!

Back over to crown wood for another repeat customer I removed and replaced their old tired fence with new concrete posts and gravel boards and drop in panels to give it another lease of life!

For a customer in Wokingham I fitted a new kitchen and what a difference it has made! Plumbing altered to work with new sink position and extractor fan duct core drilled.

Over In hamworth I installed ogee skirting throughout downstairs and 6 doors. Had some nice feedback from the customer on this one, compliments from the painter on the quality of work! Everyone knows how hard it is the please the painters!

Then on another bracknell job it was a completed rip out of the old flooring throughout downstairs. Oak laminated fitted throughout complimented with 120mm pencil round skirting. 5 oak doors were installed aswell. And a bespoke surround installed to house the fridge freezer. With a storage cupboard above and an imitation door to match the rest of the kitchen.

Over in Wokingham for another repeat customer it was finally time for skirting boards to go in throughout downstairs and the landing. This job was the full package with painting included and now my customer is one step closer to having her house completed! Also had to carry out some latex work to tidy up the meeting point from kitchen to living room ready for new carpets and Lino to go down!

Some more progress has been made over the patio job in between all of this aswell. With pointed started but unfortunately I’m now fighting the weather to get that complete. Also a bespoke gate with surround has been made and installed to finish of the entrance to my masterpiece! It’s getting there slowly but surely!

That’s me up to date for now. I’ve got a few days over the coming weeks and taking bookings for end of October onwards.

Would be happy to quote for you please feel free to contact to arrange a survey and quote to comment, like or share my main post it really would be much appreciated

Have an awesome day!
Many thanks

Good morning

Sorry It’s been a while since my last post all the way back in March. I’d like to apologise to everybody who contacted me throughout this that I either didn’t reply to or failed to get quotes sent out etc. This will be abit of a long winded catch up post!

As some of you know I got unwell in February and it completely wiped me out! The road to recovery has been a long drawn out process and still going through tests and awaiting answers. Hence why it’s been radio silence for a few months I haven’t been in a position to be taking on more work as I was already under pressure trying to get through what was booked previously.

It’s been a tough year so far but although my socials have been quite the work front has not! I’ve still been out there soldiering on and playing catch up with work booked in from last year and early this year. I am well behind schedule and it’s taking me abit longer to turn around jobs, but one thing I can guarantee is my quality of work and the service provided will never be compromised. That is the MRM promise.

Back in February I undertook a bathroom refurb in crowthorne on a late 1800s early 1900 property , this was a complete rip out and go again. With the original quarry floor tiling to stay in situ and the gorgeous suite to be reinstated. When removing the tiling from the walls unfortunately the sand and cement rendering was blown so it was back to bare brick and start again. But what a transformation and an amazing customers vision was brought to life. It was during this project my health went down hill and I’m so grateful for my customers patience and bearing with me during this time.

Then it was off to the other side of crowthorne where I installed a fitted pantry to the customers design, followed by a bespoke office suite and pull out shoe unit. This was another customers vision with a few pictures of what they liked seen on Pinterest designed and brought to life. What an amazing use of space and a massive amount of storage space created. Everything was cut and machined on site, with gorgeous solid oak worktop to give that wow factor, not to bad if I do say so myself!

Then back to Early for the finishing touches on a project I’ve been doing in stages since last year, the double doors to the kitchen were installed.

In Wokingham I completed a downstairs WC revamp. With the old toilet and boxings removed and the toilet wall tiled with these beautiful royal blue tiles, new concealed toilet boxings installs and sink splash-back tiled. Upstairs I created a custom radiator cover. And redid the silicone in the main bathroom.

Then in between jobs I ripped up and replaced floor boards and put acoustic insulation in between the joist in 2 bedrooms for a customer in Bracknell. Also the borrowed lights were removed and framed and plasterboarded. With new skirtings and architraves and doors installed. With one bedroom having wall panelling fitted aswell.

Now onto my biggest project to date! The complete garden overhaul! Just shy of 70meters squared of Indian sandstone, 20meters squared of Astroturf, new aco drainage around the building and some unexpected fence replacements! And of course the big bifold install! This project has been tough as a one man army dealing with the initial site dig outs, bringing subbase materials back in and mixing, cutting and slab laying! Quite literally blood sweat and tears have gone into this project but it’s all coming together and Im very close to completion! Over the next two weeks the sleeper wall cladding will be completed and the slab work pointed, Astro to have its final trim and to be secured down! I can’t thank the family/customers for being so patient with me as this project is well behind schedule and I’ve had to drop off to other jobs in between to try and keep other projects on schedule whilst trying to keep momentum going on this! Juggling was never my strong point but the end is in sight!

I managed to squeeze a ceiling joist and double hipped roof with fascia’s and soffits in for the legendary TAE builders! Always a pleasure going back and carrying out work with Tommy and Luke, this is where my journey began all those years ago as a 16 year old fresh out of school unable to use a handsaw!

For a customer in woodley I removed their bathroom laminate floor and assessed the subfloor below for water damage due go leaks. Damaged floorboard were removed and replaced prior to the whole lot being over boarded with ply. Then this gorgeous herringbone sheet vinyl was installed, Silicone finish all around and what a difference it has made. Whilst on this project we peeled back the carpets in the other bedrooms and landing to refix the floorboard to reduce squeaking throughout upstairs. The staircase also had some attention to reduce squeaking.

For a customer in Woking it was out with the old and in with the new doors! These solid core shaker style doors finished with beautiful antique brass ironmongery has completely transformed the property! What a difference it has made!

For a repeat customer in Early I managed to redeem a twisted out of level garden room she had installed. Unfortunately she had some other contractors assemble this cabin as I couldn’t get there due to being unwell and unable to squeeze this job in. By forming some boxing to the front corners we managed to hide the twisted out of level front projections and save what was driving her nuts! Another happy customer!

That’s me pretty much upto date for now!I currently have a few slots available in august and from early September onwards it’s back to business as usual! I’m back into a position where I can get back to quoting work and getting new projects booked in.
Please feel free to contact with an enquires you may have and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for your time reading this post. And for everybody’s patience over the last few months. I’m so grateful to have picked up some amazing customers who I’ve kept in loop and they have worked with me and around the delays I’ve faced without putting additional pressure on me to complete their projects! You guys are simply amazing!

For now that’s me over and out! Keep watching over the coming weeks as the garden project will be finalised and some new projects have started, watch this space as they say. Please like, comment and share should you wish to. Looking to get my diary filled to see me through to next year!

Thanks for your time and have a lovely weekend we certainly have the weather for it!

Many thanks
