Dead tree. Busy pub. Almost no access.

A slightly unusual morning in the heart of Ashley Cross…

This large dead tree at was positioned directly over the outside seating area, surrounded by garden buildings and with virtually no conventional access.

So we went over the top.

Using neighbouring space for the crane, we dismantled the tree in controlled sections and lifted everything safely away from the pub garden below.

The drone and timelapse footage gives a great view of this little corner of Ashley Cross too, so there may be a few familiar local businesses and landmarks you recognise along the way.

A technically awkward job made straightforward with the right planning, equipment and experience.

Great to work right in the middle of such a strong local community.

Saving the right tree matters. 🌳

This prominent Dawn Redwood at Holy Angels Church, Canford Cliffs had significant decay identified through specialist testing.

The easy option would have been removal.

Instead, the tree was carefully reduced to lessen loading on the weakened stem and give it the best chance of being safely retained within the landscape.

A strong example of why good tree work is not always about cutting trees down — sometimes it is about knowing how to keep them.

Spring is starting to wake up across Dorset and the trees know it.

A quick moment from site. One of the team feeding the chipper while the drone lifts up above the canopy… then suddenly it is misty woodland, a glowing sunset, and a reminder that this is one of the best offices in the world.

Hard graft down below. Peace and quiet up above.

If you are thinking about getting trees looked at before the growing season really kicks in, now is a great time to book it in.

Bottom of the garden. Diseased sycamore. Connected to half the neighbourhood.

Subtle lean. Questionable health. Zero interest in waiting for a windy Sunday.

Timelapse dismantle, tidy drop zone, drone out like nothing happened.

Gardens intact. Neighbours calm. Tree gone.
