Another completed project for the team at Mount House School.

We carried out improvements to the main car park to make access easier and improve the overall layout.

The works included:
• Pulling back the planter kerbstones to create unrestricted vehicle access.
• Excavating and pouring a new concrete base for a bin store.
• Regulating the levels before laying an AC20 binder course and a 40mm SMA6 wearing course.
• Applying new line markings to improve traffic flow and parking.

A straightforward project that will make a real difference to how the car park functions day to day.

Thanks to everyone involved for another quality finished project.

Refreshing HMP Ranby's Workshop Facilities

Sanper Construction recently completed a programme of refurbishment works within the workshop facilities at HMP Ranby, delivering a brighter, safer and more modern working environment for both staff and prisoners.

The project included:

• Refurbishment of welfare and toilet facilities for both prison officers and inmates.
• A complete lighting upgrade throughout the main carpentry workshop to improve visibility and create a more productive workspace.
• Flooring renovations, including the removal of existing tiled finishes, heavy mechanical sanding, resin floor installation and full surface preparation.
• Internal redecoration across the workshop areas, providing a clean, professional finish while maintaining all operational and health & safety requirements.

As the project progressed, our team also delivered a number of additional improvements beyond the original scope, including the replacement of perimeter glazing, barrier upgrades and a full ventilation overhaul, ensuring the facilities were brought up to an even higher standard.

Working within a live custodial environment requires careful planning, close collaboration and minimal disruption to daily operations. Thanks to the commitment of our site team and client stakeholders, the project was delivered to a high standard while maintaining the operational needs of the prison throughout.

Welcome to the Team, Rich!

We're delighted to officially welcome Rich Fahey to Sanper Construction as our new Head of Field Operations & Rapid Response.

Rich joins us with a wealth of experience across construction and maintenance, bringing strong operational knowledge, a practical approach and a real passion for delivering outstanding service.

As we continue to expand our Rapid Response capability and strengthen our field operations, Rich will play a key role in developing our teams, driving performance and supporting the next phase of growth across the business.

🔨 Project Spotlight | Kingston University

Sanper were engaged by Kingston University to investigate and carry out urgent repairs to a series of roof defects that had resulted in ongoing water ingress issues.

Following detailed investigations, our team identified failed lead gutters and significant deterioration to sections of coping brickwork, both of which were contributing to leaks within the building.

Given the location and height of the affected areas, specialist access scaffolding was installed to provide a safe working platform for our operatives while maintaining minimal disruption to the university's day-to-day activities.

The scope of works included:

✔ Roof leak investigations
✔ Repairs to defective lead gutters
✔ Replacement and rebuilding of damaged coping brickwork
✔ Associated with making good works and weatherproofing measures

Projects like this highlight the importance of early intervention and planned maintenance, helping to prevent minor defects from developing into major structural issues.

A great effort from the team in delivering a safe, efficient solution and protecting the building from further water ingress.

Improving healthcare provision through smarter design and delivery.

Sanper Construction were engaged to create a much-needed new dispensary point at HMP The Mount, helping healthcare teams dispense essential medication more efficiently and reducing waiting times for prisoners.

The project involved repurposing an existing store area, including structural alterations to create the necessary space for specialist medical cabinetry, services, and power requirements.

Working alongside STRAD, the facility incorporates MOJ-approved dispensary hatches complete with integrated spit guards, providing a safe and secure environment for healthcare professionals delivering critical services.

All finishes were completed in accordance with Document C requirements, ensuring a hygienic clinical environment suitable for day-to-day healthcare operations.

Delivered within a live custodial setting, the project was completed in just 4 weeks and handed over on programme.

A great example of how construction, manufacturing, and healthcare requirements can come together to deliver practical improvements across the prison estate.
