Stuart Turner Shower Pump Re-Pipe & Air-Lock Issues Resolved 🚿🔧

Another shower pump job completed after ongoing problems with poor performance and repeated air locking.

The existing Stuart Turner shower pump had been installed with 15mm Speedfit pipework, despite the main low-pressure hot water supply being 22mm. This reduction was restricting the available flow to the pump and contributing to poor shower performance.
The pump had also suffered a failed seal, and the shower was repeatedly becoming air locked in the loft, causing further problems.

We carried out a full re-pipe of the pump connections, including:
🔧 Correctly sized 22mm pipework to improve flow to the pump
🔧 Removal of unnecessary 15mm restrictions
🔧 Reconfiguration of the hot water feed to prevent pressure and flow loss
🔧 Installation of automatic air vents to help prevent recurring air locks
🔧 Replacement/reconnection of the affected pump pipework and fittings
🔧 System checked and tested following completion
The finished installation provides the pump with a much better supply and addresses the underlying causes rather than simply treating the symptoms.

💡 Correct pipe sizing and good installation practice are essential when fitting a shower pump, particularly where pipework is installed in a loft space.

🏠 Landlord Gas Safety Inspection & Heating System Upgrade – Boston, Lincolnshire
Another successful Landlord Gas Safety Inspection (CP12) completed, with additional work carried out to improve the efficiency and reliability of the heating system.
During the inspection, I found the cold feed and expansion pipe was heavily restricted, causing the system to draw air into the heating circuit. This can lead to noisy radiators, poor circulation, corrosion and reduced heating efficiency.

I recently completed the replacement of an ageing oil boiler with a new, high-efficiency Warmflow oil boiler, giving our customer a more reliable and energy-efficient heating system.
