This morning, members of the GRIGGS team spent time at Home Farm on the Aldenham Estate in Elstree, taking part in hands-on woodland management as part of its wider rewilding programme.

We started by learning more about the woodland ecosystem and how invasive and non-native species can spread, outcompete native plants and restrict the natural regeneration of the woodland.

We then got to work helping to clear areas of invasive growth, supporting the Estate’s ongoing work to restore its woodlands and encourage a healthier, more diverse habitat.

It was an interesting morning, a chance to learn something new and a good opportunity for the team to spend some time together away from the day-to-day.

Today is World Architecture Day.

Architecture plays an important role across everything we do at GRIGGS, from individual bespoke homes and commercial buildings to our residential developments and the new communities we bring forward through our Land & Planning team.

There is no single architectural style that defines a successful building or place. Contemporary or traditional, individual home or wider masterplan, the best architecture responds to its setting, reflects how people will use it and creates something with lasting character.

Across our portfolio, we work with talented architects and designers to create buildings and places in many different forms, but the principles remain the same: thoughtful design, a strong sense of place and buildings that stand the test of time.

These are just a few examples of the diverse architectural styles across our work.

Back in the room at the Labour Party Conference this weekend, continuing the conversations between government and those working on the front line of housing, development and infrastructure delivery.

It was a valuable opportunity to have detailed discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing our sector, including a conversation with Angela Rayner, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government about some of the practical issues impacting delivery.

There is a shared challenge that extends beyond party politics: addressing the housing crisis, supporting economic growth and employment, and ensuring the infrastructure is in place for the future of our communities.

We remain committed to delivering private and affordable homes, employment schemes and the infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth, while continuing to raise the practical issues and barriers we encounter through delivery on the ground.

We will continue to work constructively with local and national government to help turn ambition and policy into delivery.

We are delighted to see the rapid progress being made at our Lyndhurst Farm scheme in Borehamwood, currently being built out by Chime Housing and Hill Group.

The development will provide 186 new homes, 100% of which will be affordable, representing a landmark contribution to affordable housing in Hertsmere at a time of significant housing need. It is incredibly rewarding to see the vision becoming a reality.

As a business, we remain committed to helping bring forward high-quality private and affordable homes across the borough, creating places and communities that leave a lasting legacy.

We are proud to announce the opening of our new regional office in Marlborough, marking the next stage in the growth of GRIGGS Bespoke and extending our presence across the South West and surrounding counties.

Since 1968, GRIGGS has built a reputation for creating exceptional homes, combining outstanding craftsmanship with a highly personal approach to every project.
