Meet Jimmy, Regional Supervisor at

Jimmys extensive experience in the roofing industry is a significant asset. He understand the industry’s unique challenges, can lead teams effectively, maintain quality standards and improve client satisfaction.

When we asked Jimmy to share a fun fact about himself he said “I am a keen match angler and regularly enter fishing competitions.
I have been a member of the Orrell Angling Club for many years, since I was six years old.” 🎣

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT 👷

Re-roofing of Burnley Crematorium was a great example of technical ability and flexibility as we had a complex roofing project and tough work restrictions due to the service schedule. With quiet working in operation between 10-4 we operated split shifts to work early morning and late afternoons to ensure we could keep the project moving with minimal disruption to such an important building.

The old copper turret was stolen and main roof was a mineral felt roof that was at the end of its lifespan. A new Cut-To-Falls high performance insulated roof with a Polyroof Liquid membrane was specified. To prevent future theft we used an Imitation copper roof system on the turret using a green topcoat and mop roll trims to simulate oxidised copper.

You can see the poor condition of the roof from the images taken during the initial survey works and compare to the completed works after we returned the project to the client.

This project come with a 20 year insurance backed guarantee and was completed on budget and with no ingress throughout such a complex build.

We’re delighted to announce that has been awarded roofing projects for the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Yorkshire and the Humber, delivering vital improvements to operational Army Reserve Centre facilities.

The works will include:

✔️ Full flat roof renewals
✔️ Installation of insulated warm roof systems
✔️ Replacement rainwater goods
✔️ Enhanced weatherproofing and energy performance
✔️ Lead valley replacements
✔️ Chimney repairs and re-haunching
✔️ Slate and tile repairs
✔️ Bargeboard and soffit timber replacement
✔️ High-level access and scaffolding works

Delivered within live RFCA estate environments, these projects require meticulous planning, stringent health and safety management and close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure operations continue with minimal disruption.

Securing these contracts is another fantastic opportunity for SSR to showcase our expertise in roofing refurbishment, quality assurance and public-sector project delivery.

A brilliant achievement for the entire team and we look forward to delivering these projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
