🎨 THURSDAY PAINT TIP — DON’T TRUST THE TIN! 👀

Ever painted a room and wondered why the colour looks completely different once it’s on the wall? 🤔

💡 Lighting can change everything.
Natural daylight, warm bulbs and cool LEDs can all make the exact same paint colour look completely different.

So before committing to a whole room, test your colour in a few different areas and look at it throughout the day.

Because nobody wants to spend a weekend painting… only to realise the walls look like they belong in someone else’s house! 😂

🚨 PAINTING FRESH PLASTER? DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE! 🚨

Fresh plaster needs a mist coat before your finishing coats. It helps the paint soak into the plaster and gives you a much better surface to work with.

Skip the mist coat and you could end up with patchy coverage, poor adhesion and peeling paint. 😬

🎨 Get the prep right, and the finish will follow!

🚨 STOP! Before you pick up that paintbrush… READ THIS! 🎨

Want that smooth, professional finish? It’s not just about the paint — it’s all about the prep!

🛠️ Fill the imperfections
🧽 Sand it smooth
🧹 Get rid of the dust
🎨 THEN get the paint on!

It might take a little longer, but good preparation makes ALL the difference.

👉 You can’t paint over poor preparation!

🎨 SPARE ROOM TRANSFORMATION 🎨

Another spare room completed, with a classy Farrow & Ball combination that really brings the room to life.

🏠 Skimming Stone – ceilings & walls
🪵 Cinder Rose – woodwork in Satinwood

Both colours are Farrow & Ball, with the ceilings and walls finished in Durable Matt for a hard-wearing, quality finish.

There was plenty of prep work involved to get everything looking right before the paint went on — but the finished result speaks for itself. 👌

🎨 STILL HERE!

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on the work page lately — I promise I haven’t disappeared! 😂

It’s simply been non-stop with work, and when you’ve got a toddler lad and two teenage girls at home, finding five minutes to post on Facebook is harder than finding a clean paint kettle! 🤣

The brushes are still going, the jobs are still coming in and I’m still grafting away.

A massive thank you to everyone who continues to recommend me and get in touch — it really is appreciated. ❤️

Now, back to the day job… there’s a wall waiting for me somewhere! 🎨😂

“I always tell my customers… I can’t stand having tradesmen in my own house!” 😂🏡

Turns out… maybe I’m not so bad to have around after all! 😅

A lovely customer recently sent me this message, and it genuinely made my day ❤️

For me, decorating isn’t just about leaving a room looking great. It’s about respecting your home or work place, being approachable, cleaning up after myself, and making the whole experience as stress-free as possible (especially when little ones are around!).

So yes… I still don’t like random tradesmen in my house… but hopefully I’m the exception in yours! 😂🎨

Thanks to all my customers for your trust, kind words, and cups of tea. It really does mean a lot.
