Morning all!
Firstly, many apologies for my recent prolonged absence from work. My 'new' knee took longer to get sorted than expected and, just as I was trying my legs out and getting back to work, my mother (who had moved in with us) passed away. Although expected , it has had a greater effect on me than I had imagined it would. I AM working again now, having a much delayed holiday end of this month and will hopefully be back up to speed in October.
Thank you sooo much for your support , patience and kind words - I couldn't have got through all this without you guys!!!!

Hi! Just to let folks know that I am currently ' resting on my laurals'! Just had my knee replaced so will be off for a while. Feel free to contact me if you have an issue and I can pass on the numbers of some 'tried and tested' Gas engineers!!!!!

Good morning! We have had lots of phone calls regarding boilers not working due to their condensate pipe from the boiler being frozen - this is the white pipe that’s comes out at the bottom of your boiler. If you boil the kettle and carefully pour the hot water over the white pipe this should defrost any blockage and get you up running. Please repost this, as it may help old people or people with young children in this very very cold weather :)

Hi.... Lou here. Another quick message for ABR customers ....Due to the COVID-19 virus and us all being in tier 4 , I am once again back focusing on servicing, boiler/heating problems and plumbing leaks/issues - all things that could be deemed urgent, causing property/environmental damage or an emergency. This is to try and maintain safe working practices, keep your household safe and to try and stop the spread of this blooming virus. I observe social distancing, mask up and wash down surfaces/appliances before and after work. (Please dont be offended!) Hope you are all safe and well and hope to see you soon!!!!!

Hi there - Lisa here again - I've been loathe to post on here as last time I did Lou's van was broken into!!! So, hopefully without jinxing anything - thank you so so so much for your response when Lou's tools etc were stolen in January!!!! The JustGiving page raised £535 which gave Lou £513ish - and she bought this - and bag of tools to replace some of what was stolen :)

Lou (who worked for Rick at ABR Services for well over 10 years before he retired) took over the business from us last March and has been getting used to self employment, paperwork etc. She was on a job today and the van was done over - the local community rallied, people helped on Facebook, descriptions of the people and car they were in were given to the police - but the tools are probably long gone and possibly due to their age and cost of insurance which doesn't take depreciation into account, not insured either :(

In the vain hope that anyone does spot anything at a car boot, FB selling page, etc - this is a quick list of stuff which has gone - there was more stuff (maybe other tools, certainly pipe fittings and boiler parts) but these are the main ones we remember.

Please keep an eye out - 15mm, 22mm, push fit, boiler parts and 'odds' are written in white marker on the dewalt tool boxes (4 small, 1 medium - tough).

Happy New Year to all ABR customers - hope you had a great break and now it's back to reality!! A little late with our announcement, as some of you will already know - we (Rick and Lisa) have 'retired' from ABR, leaving the business in the very capable hands of Louise who worked alongside Rick from not long after the 'birth' of ABR. We will miss our lovely customers but you'll all be in (gas) safe hands with Lou!!
