⚠️ Hidden danger in older fuse holders ⚠️
This is something we still come across more often than you’d think…
Older fuse holders like this can contain asbestos inside the fuse carrier. The white material you see was commonly used for heat resistance—but we now know it poses serious health risks if disturbed.
🚫 Breaking, or even handling damaged components can release harmful fibres into the air
🚫 These fibres are invisible and can stay in your lungs for years
🚫 Exposure is linked to serious conditions like asbestosis and lung disease
If you have an older property or outdated fuse gear, it’s important not to tamper with it yourself.
✅ Always get a qualified electrician to inspect
✅ Suspected asbestos should only be handled by trained professionals
✅ Upgrading old fuse systems improves both safety and reliability
