⭐ STARLINK INTERNET INSTALLATION ⭐
So, I’d been wondering what all the fuss was about regards Elon Musks super duper Satellite Internet.
Rather than take the word of others, my thought was to better off trialling it out myself first before recommending it to our customers.
In terms of the physical installation, relatively straight forward. The kit comes with the satellite “Dish”, connection cable 10m, the WiFi 6 router and power pack.
To wall/roof mount additional costs for whichever install method you require in terms of masts. I opted for a version via Amazon for £24.99 which is robust and extendable.
Set up via the Starlink App was quick and easy. Gives you a scan option to locate the strongest position. Once all cabled and connected, you are then notified on alignment errors, which is a simple adjustment at the dish. Once locked on to optimum alignment, the app again notifies.
I’ve purchased the 200Mb @ £60pm option. Up and downloads speeds seem solid, however they’re a bit below the max 200Mb which id expect at peak times.
Obviously I’ll monitor the performance over the next 30 days as it’s offered as a 30 day trial and see if all the hype is warranted. Using Virgin Media for the last 4 years has been a nightmare with constant outages and nothing in terms of a permanent solution so they will be left behind should this turn out to be up to the promise.
