Fantastic team effort supporting Cardiff Foodbank👏
Recently, social value manager, Craig Sweet was joined by Kate Rowlands of Folly Contractors and Dmitry Sereda of Orlov Construction Limited to volunteer at the foodbank and together they:

🥫 Donated 38.1kg of food
📦 Helped strengthen essential foodbank stocks
🤝 Supported local people facing difficult circumstances
💙 Contributed time to an invaluable community service

Wynne Construction is currently delivering the new Specialist Resource Base (SRB) at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf for valued client Cardiff Council, funded through Welsh Government Welsh Medium grant and procured through the SEWSCAP framework and with Ardal Procurement

The SRB will provide 30 places for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and 30 for Complex Learning Needs, supporting communication, life skills, and drama — all through the medium of Welsh.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved, and to Cardiff Foodbank for the warm welcome and the vital work you carry out every day. 💙

Great results for our environmental impact at our Newport Leisure and Wellbeing Centre project 🌲

Through our work with the Community Wood Recycling Network, the site team has saved 12.9T of timber from the waste stream, ensuring valuable material is reused and recycled.

Between April to June, timber has been collected by Newport-based social enterprise Reseiclo - Rescued Wood and generated meaningful social outcomes:

♻️ 12.9 tonnes of wood rescued and reused
👷 6.4 weeks of paid employment
🎓 1.7 weeks of training

A fantastic example of sustainability supporting stronger communities, highlighting how circular economy can deliver real environmental and social impact and keep valuable timber in use while creating training, employment and confidence-building opportunities for people facing barriers to work.

"I’ve been putting theory into practice this summer" 👷‍♂️
Construction management student, Jacek has been on work experience during his summer break from his college course Grŵp Llandrillo-Menai.

Jacek has spent time across three of our sites - extra care and residential scheme project Aethwy for Isle of Anglesey County Council, the new energy, EGNI project for Bangor University and our housing scheme in Bodelwyddan for Adra Tai Cyf - gaining first-hand experience of how projects are managed and delivered and seeing how the knowledge gained through his course translates into a working construction environment.

We hope the experience proves valuable as he continues his studies and progresses towards a career in construction. 🏗️

Congratulations to all our raffle winners! 🎉

A huge thank you to all our staff who bought tickets and supported our company raffle in aid of Maggie's North Wales 🧡. The draw was held last week and we raised £575, taking our charity of the year fundraising total to over £3,000!

Thank you to our supply chain for their fabulous prize donations, which were really appreciated and generated lots of ticket sales!

We look forward to continuing our fundraising with more events throughout the year!

Celebrating 100 years with a £325m+ order book 🎉

With so much to celebrate this year, we are delighted to be entering our 100th year with a strong order book and a diverse range of projects across all four corners of Wales.

We currently have £228 million of projects on site, with a further £99 million of secured schemes progressing through pre-construction. Extending into 2030, this pipeline gives us the confidence to plan ahead, invest in our people and provide continuity for our workforce and trusted supply chain.

Building a future for Welsh-medium education 🏫🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Great news! The team recently joined staff, pupils and members Ceredigion County Council to celebrate the start of the redevelopment and extension of Ysgol Gymraeg Aberystwyth, in mid Wales.

The project includes:

🔨 Refurbishing the existing school
🏗️ Replacing temporary classrooms
🏫 Building a new two-storey teaching block
📚 Creating 10 classrooms and intervention spaces

A new Welsh Language Immersion Centre will also provide targeted support for children who are new to the language, helping them transition confidently into Welsh-medium education.

Designed to be net zero in operation, the extension will feature air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and a covered walkway connecting the new and existing buildings.🌱

Ten miles, one fantastic team and a wonderful cause 🧡 🥾
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual charity walk around the beautiful Llyn Brenig in aid of Maggie's North Wales

The weather improved as we made our way around the 10-mile route, giving us the perfect opportunity to enjoy the stunning surroundings and spend quality time together outside of work.

A special thank you to Billy for keeping everyone going with refreshments! Also to the youngsters who were brilliant 👍

Growing healthier habits 🍅🪴 in Chester

It was great to see the excitement of pupils at 5 primary schools across Chester when our social value team, Natasha Pryce and Sara Baldwin-Evans arrived with tomato plants and greenhouses to set up, as part of our well-being and healthy initiative.

Linked to the recently completed Kings Moat Community Primary School project for our valued client Cheshire West and Chester Council, the activity was to help the children understand where food comes from, develop practical gardening skills and build healthier habits from an early age.

Some pupils told us they do not currently eat tomatoes but are excited to try the ones they have grown themselves. That spark of curiosity is exactly why initiatives like this matter.

A huge thank you to Eccleston C of E Primary School, The Arches Community Primary School, Upton Heath C of E Primary School, St Clare’s Catholic Primary School and Oldfield Pre-school for welcoming us.
