Cutting Edge Carpentry

Lovely little job today I must say!
•
Took a reclaimed length of timber and give it a new lease of life.
•
Gave it a good going over with a wire wheel to clear all the old debris off ready to take the finish of the clients choice. Held in place by 3 stainless steel rods and a bed of lime mortar 👌🏻

Busy week last week helping out someone who had been let down several times and needed stair treads repairing ready for carpet being fitted, then onto fitting some decking for a good friend and old team mate and finished off by installing some lovely Sapele pillars on a porch in Norwich.

A recent job where we asked to look at hopefully re-opening and restoring 3 sash windows. Sealed and painted shut for some years it wasn’t looking hopeful but the client was aware of this. We got started and it turned out that 90% of the timber was in working order and they only required 2 new sills and some glazing bars to be made.
The biggest let down was finding someone from a local building company had carried out repairs before and removed the weight boxes from 2 of the windows so 2 out 3 sash’s are sadly weight free as the client requested but the windows still work a treat.
Certainly enjoyed the element of repair and not replace on this one.
I’m sure people would have different ways and opinions and that’s fine, you’re allowed them 😉

Job done! Yesterday's door repair was a success. I crafted the new bottom section off-site, cut away the old bits, and fitted the fresh timber. Big thanks to for the top-notch timber and for the reliable fixings and glue!

This week: revamping a Swedish summer house storage area. The rot was worse than I thought. Shoutout to for flawlessly matching the timber 👌🏻 The door got some much-needed repairs too. All PSE courtesy of
