Just a quick awareness post for those guys out there using the wall chasing machine. Or any other chasing machine

Be very wary of existing cable already buried in the wall your chasing.

On my Monday had an accident involving this. The blade has caught some cable in the wall.
Pulled it out at Christ knows what speed. It's whipped around the blade and hit me in the chest.
Thought I was just a gash so patched it up and carried on with the rewire.
Thursday came and my chest filled with fluid and I could feel something pointy under my skin.
Trip up to A&E and it turns out Ive got a 3inch piece of copper cable embedded in my muscle.
The hospital are still deciding on which department are going to deal with this 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ so I'm now waiting on it to be removed.

Always wear your safely glasses doing this kind of s**t too, I wasn't wearing mine and if this had hit my face or eye I'd 100% be losing that eye now 🙏

Little joint venture with the last few days. Getting this house out in the country first fixed.
Doesn't seem like a massive house but a lot went into this. With an open plan kitchen/diner. Panoramic views from the large bi fold door at the rear from the kitchen with possible internal and external speakers to be decided.
Power, lighting, coax and internet points throughout.
A tonne of external lighting around the perimeter and multizone heating controls.
New mains to go in and sub mains to garage once the garage has been finished being built.
This garage will be more of a man cave
Which will include, power, spot lighting and internet access points.
Also a Heat source pump at the rear.

Probably the most awkward rewire we have taken on in quite a while started today.

The brick is mostly engineering brick 😭
3 floors and it's typical it bloody 28 degrees 🥵🥵🥵

All chases done today. Start throwing in a load of ables tomorrow.
We are hoping to have this wrapped up by Friday.

Another rewire put to bed this week.
2 boards to do on this one. Small garage board with all new wiring and a new SWA feed from the main building.

This was around an 85% percent rewire with the only original cabling left in the house was the shower feed. And the existing utility and conservatory wiring. Which tested out on the initial EICR perfectly apart from it being a spur from an spur from a spur 8 times off the ring circuit 🤦‍♂️ just the first leg from the board replaced to the first socket on a radial circuit. We had to do this rewire with minimal damage and we hope the client is happy with the result.
in first a few days this week. So be sure to check out her next YouTube video in which this rewire will be featured on. And of course a snippet of my black country accent 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤣🤣🤣 as I explain how we wired the lighting

Start of an 80% rewire on this 2 bed bungalow today with extension and a new sub main to garage. New lights and socket points going in the garage with Kinetic switch for the garden lighting.

First job today was to clear out the loft 😫😫🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ of all the boarding.
We decided to start by rewiring all the lighting today and installing the customers supplied fittings but supplied the spot lots ourselves.
Our aim was to cause minimal disruption to the walls as possible by trying to pull down the original capping. 1 switch wire per switch.
First time doing this but we wired all the lights and switch wires back to one big wago box.
Labelled up all the individual cables on what room they served. The box was a but tedious to terminate but I quite liked it.
Onto the sockets tomorrow and and the garage sub main.
Wednesday. Wiring the garage with 6 way consumer unit and also house consumer unit.
Thursday. Big clean up and test. We hope 😳😳

This is going to be lovely swanky bar in the middle of Stafford.
Quite proud of this one but also glad to get it finished 🤣🤣 after numerous visits due to add ons and delays.

So this was the reason I was super excited to return to this ongoing project today. The customer gave me free reigns on the kitchen lighting and wanted the WOW factor. So we came up with this design using plaster in LED profile and spotless COB 24v LED strip.

The reason we went with this was the shape of the kitchen. Not only a great feature but also functional. But as the extension is fully glass on the one side. This lighting actually looks amazing from the outside. Showing off the buildings lines and shape.
The customers are really happy the gamble paid off.

The LED lighting was supplied to us by .
They went above and beyond to get this stuff out to me quick time. Thanks guys

So today's job was giving a helping hand to . Replacing this absolute rats nest of a board on one of her jobs she has done a kitchen on.
Bit of challenge this one. Moved the consumer unit closer to where all the cables were coming from to gain a bit of slack. Moving the board down so it was below ceiling level and not half and half like the original.
Allowing the customer to be able to repair the ceiling and put the coving back across in 1 piece.
Replacing the tails from the meter position to allow me to move the board across.
So many circuits were doubled up in the original board 🤦🏻‍♂🤦🏻‍♂

All good now though 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hope you customers are happy 😊

So today's job started out as a bit of fault finding. Previous electricians visited and just by passed the RCD and told the customer he needed a rewire after not being able to find the fault.
My first recommendation was to install an RCBO board to stop him losing half his house when a fault occurred.
He was really happy as he was expecting a rewire.
Board changed with 60% of the circuits needing extending, so installed an adaptable box next tk CU. Narrowed fault down to an old shower circuit not in use.
A badly terminated junction box with the earth floating around touching the neutral. The old guy was over the moon that he didn't have to spend thousands on a rewire and couldn't thank us enough 😁😁
With times already hard it was a bit of blow for this guy and a pleasant surprise he didn't need his house rewiring.

Coming to an end on this 5bed rewire. Just a few more things to tick off tomorrow. But today's task was installing this 28way dual stack consumer unit. Ain't going to lie. This one made me sweat a little to get it all stripped out. Prepped. Installed and powered back up before the dark set in. Accupied rewire so didn't want the clients sittings in the dark.
Get some pics of the rewire tomorrow once its all done and dusted.
