This socket was replaced by a local letting agents electrician! 🤠
They also carried out a satisfactory eicr. The house was riddled with electrical issues and the meter tails were loose!!!

A large tidy up was needed after the mess left by another electrician. Proper inspection and testing of the existing installation or the new circuits had not been carried out. Multiple faults and open junction boxes where found and rectified. Loose main incoming tails were likely to cause a fire. A New consumer unit and new circuits were installed to supply the new kitchen.

This us not how diwnlights are installed. If your electrician does this you need a new one! Exposed single insulation and no continuity of the circuit protective conductor. Both C2 codes and result in an unsatisfactory EICR. Shoddy and lazy workmanship.

Always get references and check that the electrician is registered.
This customer paid for a rewire. The "electrician" has replaced a tiny amount of cables and fitted a non compliant consumer unit. He's not registered and in my opinion not an electrician.

Just because an electrician is a niceic or napit member doesnt ensure they will do the job correctly. Always get a reference.
New consumer unit fitted with a hole you can stick your finger in straight onto the live bus bar!!!
