This leak chose a particularly inconvenient hiding place… underneath the shower. 💧🔎

Using our leak detection equipment, the Hamer’s team traced the problem to pipework concealed beneath the shower tray and flooring.

Once the source had been located, we carefully removed the shower enclosure and tray, opened the floor directly above the affected area and gained access to the leaking pipework.

The necessary repair was completed before everything was reinstated—leaving the bathroom looking as though we’d never been there. 👏

When water is appearing in one place, the source isn’t always where you’d expect. Finding it accurately can prevent unnecessary damage and disruption while the cause is investigated.

Out with the old and in with the new! 👋

The existing manhole on this property had seen better days, so our team removed it and installed a new PVC inspection chamber and pipework.

We also installed two structural liner repairs within the 100mm drainage line, sealing the defective joints without needing to excavate the full length of the drain.

Once the underground work was complete, we reinstated the area with fresh MOT stone and finished it with new tarmac.

One job, several specialist drainage solutions and everything left neat and tidy again. 👏

Not quite our usual commute this week… Dan and Nick have been all the way up in Bellshill, Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The lads were there to replace an old pump system at a commercial site. That meant removing the old equipment, digging out for and installing new pipework, fitting the new pump and working alongside the electricians to get everything connected.

Once the work was complete, the ground was reinstated and the whole system was filled and tested.

The result? Everything running perfectly and a successful trip across the border for Team Hamer’s. 👏

It’s not every week our job photos come with Scottish scenery—but our vans do get about! 🚐

Did you know we carry out lead water supply replacements? 💧

Many older properties across Blackpool, Fylde and the surrounding areas are still connected to the mains water network using lead supply pipes. If your property has a lead water supply, it may be worth considering replacing it with modern MDPE pipework.

At Hamer's Plumbing & Drainage, we can help make the process as straightforward as possible by:

✔️ Replacing lead water supply pipes with modern 25mm MDPE pipework
✔️ Excavating and reinstating to a high standard
✔️ Installing new internal stop taps, double check valves and associated pipework
✔️ Providing photographs, videos and certificates where required
✔️ Advising customers on the United Utilities Lead Pipe Replacement Scheme
✔️ Supplying the information needed to support grant applications
✔️ Liaising with United Utilities where required for the connection process

If you're applying through the Lead Pipe Replacement Scheme, the application itself is completed by the homeowner, but we're happy to guide you through what's required and provide the supporting information needed for your application.
