Tapestry Vertical Gardens At Tapestry Vertical Gardens we design, create and maintain biodiverse vertical gardens that change with the seasons and develop over time.

The Landscape Architect was established by Adam Shepherd in 2006 and has developed a reputation for modern garden and landscape design. Our aim is very simple, to create beautiful gardens that function perfectly. We strive to produce a unique space for each and every one of our clients with particular emphasis placed on creative design solutions, the choice of materials and bold planting schemes. Our preferred palette of materials include wood, stone, polished concrete and steel. The experimentation with these and other innovative materials is an essential part of the design process. We are also specialists in the design, installation and maintenance of living walls.

Flying Fatsia!! Just your standard issue F. japonica but it’s just so good at bringing the drama. I love to clear stem them to enhance their architectural qualities / jungle vibes. I think this vertical garden is about 5 years old now - and it’s getting a bit carried away - but I can’t quite bring myself to rein it in. Not yet anyway.

Mid August in Richmond, London. Hydrangea, numerous varieties of persicaria, fushia, geranium, the spent flower heads of a white buddleia and a self seeded willow - might not sound like a classic planting combo… but I like it.

Explosions of colour and texture. Our vertical garden in Richmond, now well over 5 years old, is trying to escape its confines. Such exuberance is a delight to behold.

One of my spheres, looking full, if a little battle weary after being shipped from Devon to Chelsea to in Pickmere (near Manchester) where I’ve just discovered a hitchhiker. Not sure if he/she (?) is a Devonian, Londoner or a local as he/she hopped off before I could ask.

Huge leaves of Paulownia tomentosa - accentuating the vertical drama… with euphoric Euphorbia in a supporting role. Splash of fushia ‘Delta Sarah’ for highlights. North london jungle delights. Love.
