Finding the right contractor has always required care. Right now, it requires more than ever.

The pipeline across retail, commercial and healthcare is busy.

Good contractors are in demand, and the ones you want on your project are usually already committed to something else.

That means procurement planning cannot be an afterthought.

We have seen clients leave themselves with very little choice because they came to market too late, with a brief that was not tight enough to attract competitive pricing.

The result is a restricted list, elevated costs, or both.
The solution is not complicated. Get your surveys done early. Nail the drawings. Go to tender with information contractors can actually price confidently. And give them enough notice that the people you actually want can resource your project properly.

It sounds obvious. In practice, a lot of projects get this wrong.

The Building Safety Act is changing how projects need to be managed.

Not just for higher-risk buildings, the cultural shift it demands runs much wider than that.
As The Client, you now have clearly defined duties.

You are responsible for ensuring the right people are in the right roles, that competency is evidenced, and that the golden thread of information is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. These are not soft obligations.
They carry real legal weight.
In my experience, awareness has improved significantly over the last 12 months. But awareness and readiness are not the same thing.

A lot of clients understand that the Act exists.

Fewer have fully embedded the compliance requirements into how they commission and manage their projects.

Today is a fun day for us in the office..
Today is World Ampersand Day!

As we all know, the ampersand symbol, a unique character and logogram representing the word "and".

The origin of the symbol comes from ancient Rome during the first century A.D. as a ligature of the Latin word "et," meaning "and".

The word "ampersand" comes from the phrase "and per se and," meaning the character "and" by itself at the end of the alphabet. It was historically taught as the 27th letter of the alphabet.

And of course we use it to describe our service to our clients... we love to go further, beyond expectations... 'and then some'
