Happy Tuesday 💚

featuring Barry’s Crazy Cherry from She Grows Veg Ltd 💛

A lemon yellow fruiting Tomato, it produces massive trusses laden with the fruit hanging like grapes

The flavour is mild and sweet with little acidity so great for kids and/or snacking on 💛

Even the Bees love its flowers ..

Have you grown this variety ?

Have a terrific day Natasha Spearing | Gardener

Happy Sunday 💚

It’s the final day of and although we don’t have an allotment we do have what we call a ‘kitchen garden /garden allotment’

When we originally had the veg beds we just grew the assigned veg in them..

…but this year I’ve embraced the flowers in with them

Not only for the reasons I’ve listed but because it’s nice to have a pop of colour and to increase biodiversity to a previously barren lawn area

Do you grow flowers in with veg ⬇️

Haves super Sunday all 🙏 Natasha Spearing | Gardener 💚

…is Tiny Dahlia Thursday a hashtag ?

This is ‘Rocco’ a tiny pom pom Dahlia less than 5cm across ♥️

Like its owner it’s small but packs a punch 😎

What’s your smallest Dahlia ?

Have a terrific Thursday all I’m hiding indoors with Soleros 😎

Happy Sunday💚

A follow up post to my previous one on drought tolerant planting

As a gardener in the driest region of the UK, I’m used to dry conditions in the Summer but this is ridiculous! No rain for weeks and now a hose pipe ban

So I’m definitely considering adapting my planting going forwards and looking for drought resistant planting

Here are a few that we have in our own garden or at gardens that I work in that seemed to have coped the best please add any below ⬇️

💙 Agapanthus
♥️ Hollyhock
🧡 Rudbeckia
💜 Cardoon
💜 Lavender
♥️ Amaranthus
🤍 Erigeron
💚 Nepeta

There is also a comprehensive list on the RHS website

https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/for-places/drought-resistant

Can you add to this list ? Bear in mind I’m in the UK Zone 8b

Have a super Sunday all 🙏💚 Natasha Spearing | Gardener
