A brilliant day at Landscape Connect East 🌿

It was good to hear from fellow garden designers, discover some new and innovative products, and catch up with our friends at Plants Great Bardfield.

Thank you to London Stone and Landscapeplus for bringing everyone together and supporting Perennial. The charity offers free, confidential help to people working in horticulture and their families, from financial advice to support with health and wellbeing. Such important work for the people behind our gardens.

Zoe transformed our small, awkwardly shaped garden with an inspired and beautifully considered design. She listened carefully to everything we wanted: scented plants, flowers throughout the year and a spacious, comfortable sitting area. Her plan made wonderful use of every part of the garden while creating a space that feels harmonious, inviting and surprisingly generous.

The finished garden is nothing short of stunning. Zoe has turned what was once an odd, barren space into a place of genuine beauty, enjoyment and relaxation. We are absolutely delighted and could not recommend her more highly.

A material with a story 🌊

One of the things I really wanted to bring into my Gardeners’ World Autumn Fair garden was a sense of age, character and connection to the landscape.

These reclaimed sea groynes were sourced from Ashwells and bring exactly that. Having already spent years exposed to the sea and the elements, every piece has its own markings, texture and history. I love that they feel weathered and imperfect rather than new and pristine.

Ashwells specialise in giving old timber another life, reclaiming hardwood from places such as piers, jetties and marine structures and preparing it to be used again. It felt like the perfect choice for a garden where the materials are just as important to the story as the planting.
