PROJECT UPDATE | EDGBASTON 🏡

A major property transformation is taking shape in Edgbaston.

Here’s Tehmi taking you on a walk-through of the latest progress on site, looking at some of the key design features and, importantly, what has to happen behind the scenes to bring a project of this scale together.

A successful refurbishment isn’t just about the aesthetics. It’s about balancing how a home looks, how the spaces work and how the building performs.

Beautiful finishes and considered interior details have to work alongside spatial planning, structural alterations and the less glamorous — but equally important — elements: air source heat pumps, solar PV, airtightness, underfloor heating and the wider mechanical and electrical systems.

And all of those moving parts have to be designed, sequenced and installed in the right order.

That’s where the real value of an integrated design, build and installation team comes in — coordinating every discipline so that what’s beautiful, what’s practical and what’s technically essential all come together as one finished home.

A big day for the UK construction industry — and a particularly proud one for ProBuild360.

With thousands of builders and construction businesses across the UK who could have been approached for comment, Channel 5 came directly to ProBuild360 to give an industry perspective on today’s major Government announcement from Andy Burnham on tackling cowboy builders and better protecting homeowners.

Michael Parinchy made a simple but important point: much of the information homeowners need to identify a reputable builder is already out there.

Check Companies House. Look at trading history and genuine reviews. Expect proper quotations, contracts and staged payments. Be wary of large cash payments — and don’t automatically choose the cheapest quote.

Greater consumer protection is welcome, but perhaps Government should also address one of the biggest advantages rogue traders have over legitimate businesses: VAT.

Reducing VAT on renovation work to a homeowner’s primary residence could make legitimate, VAT-registered contractors far more competitive — and remove some of the incentive for cash-in-hand work.

If we genuinely want to tackle cowboy builders, that conversation needs to be part of it.

ANOTHER EDGBASTON TRANSFORMATION BEGINS 🏡🔨

Another substantial period property. Another exciting transformation. And another ProBuild360 project underway in the heart of Edgbaston.

This is where we love to start — stripping things back, understanding the building and beginning the extensive programme of works that will bring a beautiful traditional home firmly into modern-day living.

There’s a lot ahead here. Structural alterations, extensive renovation, upgrades and carefully considered adaptations will completely transform the way our clients live in this property, whilst respecting the character and heritage that make these Edgbaston homes so special.

The final few weeks of something special. 🏡✨

From the outside in, this major Edgbaston transformation is entering its final stages.

While our landscaping and groundworks teams push ahead with the driveways and external finishes, inside it’s all about the detail, skilled carpentry, craftsmanship and those final touches that bring months of work together.

Projects of this scale take more than great design. They take skilled tradespeople, careful coordination and strong management, with every element working towards the same end result.

There’s still plenty happening on site, but we’re getting very close to revealing a home that has been completely transformed — inside and out — and one that we think will leave a lasting mark on this beautiful part of Birmingham.
